I had an AprilAire 800 steam humidifier installed in my home in mid January 2026. It does a great job, but with an obvious flaw. The hose they supply that carries the steam into the duct system, off-gasses a nasty rubber smell into my whole house. The "fix" AprilAire offers is, "wait", it will fade over a few months. WHAT? NFG AprilAire. That is not an answer, nor a solution. Because I care about my health, I paid to have a whole house filtration/air CLEANING system installed the same day that the 800 steam humidifier was installed. Clean humidified air was the goal. Why would I want a nasty smell (with unknown possible toxicity) spread through my house? I was willing to spend big bucks for clean humidified air. I did not get that thanks to the AprilAire company refusing to offer a solution. Even though there is one to be had. Today, at significant expense to their own bottom line, the installation company, (B&L Ott) whom I highly recommend, resolved the problem for me. The hose that is a known issue, was replaced by a more expensive "food grade" hose from a different manufacturer. The smell is gone! Do not give up if you have this problem. There is a solution, but AprilAire chooses to acknowledge the problem, then tell you to live with it, it will fade over time. I must assume to save themselves from paying to resolve it as they should. Shame on your shortsightedness AprilAire!

Spoke to a tech support person (Braddon) today and he quickly helped me figure out what was going on with my humidifier units control wiring. He sent me a link and I was able to upload photos to him while we were on the call! And he told me how to fix my issue quickly. Super tech service! I am thrilled! I would give more than 5 stars if possible!

Does not stand by product. My dehumidifier could have burnt down my house and they will not do anything about it. I called their technical services and they want me to purchase a new wire harness. They have changed the wiring harness in new or models And they are aware of the problem But they want me to Pay for the new harness. Please see photo. After posting this review they did contact me, the person on the phone was very nice. They did send me a capacitor for free, but that was not the problem. That is basically all they would do for me. I STILL STAND BY MY CLAIM THE DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. They don't seem to realize it could have burnt down my house !!

DO NOT RECOMMEND - If I could give 0 stars I would. Dont buy from this company unless you plan to pay a professional hundreds to connect four unlabeled wires that they themselves will have to call support to understand because their documentation is simply non-existent. Edit (RE: "Owner"): Good job passing the buck to the techs. None of which have recommended your products due to the above mentioned issue. Good to know your products ship with manuals, that's certainly useful for someone who never purchased your product in the first place. It's a thermostat not a space shuttle - why can I find documentation on and install every major competitors product with ease without needing to spend 30 minutes on-hold with your support people simply because you refuse to post pdf's of your manuals online? Probably has nothing to do with "certification" or "partner" fees you receive from techs doing installs and maintenance to access your support services. Nah, that couldn't be it. And please don't try and direct me to the manuals on your site, those are only operational manuals and don't cover installation.

Not what I was expecting. After consulting two "dry basement" contractors both gave good reviews of the AprilAire dehumidification unit, pretty much plug and play state of the art. After dropping $2K for the E100 and having it installed yesterday the contractor said "I've never seen it do this before". By 'doing this' he was referring to the display - it wasn't working OUT OF THE BOX. Does AprilAire do any manufacturing QA/QC? The installer said they would work with AprilAire to replace the display/control module, which seems to be their standard procedure. When I contacted customer support I was given the following: "Our warranty is a 5-year parts warranty starting from the date of installation. We would need to troubleshoot with the contractor in order to determine what is going on with the unit. Parts would need to be replaced first before being able to provide a “whole unit replacement”. If after the parts are replaced and the dehumidifier is still not operating as intended then we will work through the contractor to get them the authorization for a unit replacement." The installer felt badly about my dropping $2K and not receiving a functioning unit so they were going to attempt to replace it. AprilAire would rather we "troubleshoot" it and replace parts until it appears to be working. This seems like a waste of both my time and the installers time. You can draw your own conclusions but to me I think a no questions asked replacement would be the way to go on malfunctioning new unit out of the box. They should request the old unit and figure out what went wrong so they can tighten up their quality control. We'll see where this goes.

I replaced an older model 760 whole house humidifier manual control unit that was installed maybe in the 80s(we purchase the home in 98) and ran almost flawlessly until recently when we replaced it with the new 700 series Automatic control unit. The auto control system is amazing. I highly recommend it over the manual control unit. Truly a set it and forget it set up. Support staff at the company was very helpful and friendly.. Thank you for a great product!

If your planing to purchase an Aprilaire product consider the following. I installed an Aprilaire dehumidifier and thermostat. I didn't want their thermostat, but it was the only one that I could turn off the air-handler fan if it was only calling for de-humidification. My DH is ducted separately and the AH fan will introduce more humidity if the coil is wet. Installed, tested, everything seemed to work. We had a cold snap down in the 30's. The 8620W called for heat, yet nothing happened. Something was wrong. I emailed "support" but received no actual support. I was sent manuals I already have, and when I asked for something more helpful like give feedback on pictures of my wiring that I sent, I was told to call a technician. My neighbor had a similar issue, no heat. Turns out his original installer never set his thermostat to heat pump. Heat pumps are all we use down here. Is that who they wanted me to call? I originally though the unit could have an intermittent logic issue, and it still could. But, after adding jumpers to a couple formerly unused terminals within the thermostat, it seems to be working. Support helping me through that would have taken minutes and cost nothing and cemented our relationship. I hope they make a better product than the support service provided. Is it because I'm a homeowner who will never buy dozens of their products? A companies customer service is often what sets them apart. Some are extremely helpful some are not. -- I am the owner of North Star Plumbing Services Inc. in Highland Park, Illinois. After dealing with two nice service representatives in the last couple of days with Aprilaire in regards to a warranty claim, the process was very pleasant and I received the warranty authorization number and an email with the same, perfect. With massive issues getting the product from distributors because it is their most expensive unit, so distributors don't stock it, then there was Eric, one of Aprilaire's representatives that definitely requires further customer service training, must have been a really bad Friday for him. After explaining my situation about suppliers not warranting my claim unless I purchase another one first. So I have to purchase another one....Two purchases ? I don't understand the concept of purchasing a product twice to get one working product. If I warranty an HVAC unit condenser, I don't have to purchase another one to get a working one under warranty. With all of the personal and company purchases I do, I have never warrantied a product and was told to pay twice and then they would warranty your item. Sadly for all distributors/supply houses that sell your product, they could care less to do any warranties because they don't make any money on warranties. This is why people purchase only from Amazon and are forgoing the supply houses. If I purchased and warrantied the product through Amazon, it's a done deal, no double purchasing to get one product that works. This is a problem. Eric obviously could care less or the company themselves in resolving the issues I was having warranting your Aprilaire 1850F with the 1852 dehumidifier or helping the process of warranty with any supply house in my area(G&O Thermal). I basically received the middle finger from Eric along with him hanging up on me after me asking to speak to a manager. Why would I ever purchase a product from Aprilaire if this is the ridiculous time suck they obviously have no problem dishing out. Seriously, If you have a distribution location/warehouse to pick it up and swap it within 100 miles of Highland Park, Illinois, I will pick it up, just because Aprilaire won't go the extra mile for me or my company doesn't mean I won't go the extra mile or miles for my customers. As far as stars go, the one star is for the emailed authorization number that is basically useless. Please don't respond with more runaround words as you do with others, honor your warranty without the life drain on the companies that purchase your products.

Had an issue with my new install. Called for technical support, but the person I spoke to was very rude and disrespectful. I finally told them I’d try again on my own or just buy my own replacement parts out of pocket. Not worth being talked to that way. I won’t buy anything from them again.

Do not buy any products from this company. It will broke after a few months. They do not send anyone to fix it. They teach you to fix it thru email/phone. What a joke

UPDATE 4/24/26: The air filter from Aprilaire arrived in poor packaging condition, which was disappointing. However, their customer service team responded promptly and sent a replacement for free. The replacement was properly packaged, and the issue was resolved without hassle. While the initial experience wasn’t great, they handled it well and made things right. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Think twice before buying an air filter from this company. They cut corners by not even including proper packaging for the filter. I usually buy two at a time, so now I’m stuck storing one like this for a while

<p>They are good and reliable. They give 10% off to seniors. I have no complaints. I asked them once to stop one of the helpers from visiting me, they can send somebody else instead, and they were very good, because he looked like he was pushing and I don’t like that. The owner is very, very nice. I stick with them all the time. I asked one of the guys about the filter on the ceiling and he said you can clean it and he took the ladder, took it out and cleaned it and put it in. He said you can clean it yourself too. He didn’t had to do that and I thought that was great.</p>

Integrity comes to mind when thinking about my new wooden stockade privacy fence. The fence itself has a lot of integrity and is straight and tall and strong. It was built by a man of integrity. I am so grateful I looked on Angi for someone to build my fence. Javon called me almost right away to offer his services. Javon is honest, efficient, professional, kind, thoughtful, respectful and caring. He made this project a lot of fun, and he built a fence for me that exceeds my expectations. For Javon, nothing less than perfection will do. Nothing is done halfway, and he meets rules and regulations of the area while honoring my wishes, such as leaving the ends ready for adding on. Javon is prompt, and he works hard. When finished he cleans up the work area, even if he'll be back. Even as he works the work area is organized and efficient. I can't say enough good things about his work habits and standing as a fine young man. I love my fence!
