I called and asked the Owner or General Manager to call me on this matter and after numerous calls, NEITHER returned my calls. Many neighbors have had similar experiences with Woods; they are deceitful liars; I’d never recommend anyone to do business with them in New Braunfels or elsewhere.

A woods technician came to my house to determine what was causing the relative humidity to be about 80%. When the technican arrived, he looked at the unit and the thermostate and then went outside to look at the unit. He then pulled a pressure guage out of his Woods truck and proceed to release freon from my unit. I saw him do this and my video cameras captured it as well. When he came into my house, he presented me with a bill of $339.00. When I made the appointment I was assured that no work would be done until I approved the estimate. He never presented me with an estimate just the bill. When I told him about releasing the freon, he denied it and got very aggitated stating, "I don't like it when somone calls me a liar." He then stated, "then don't pay it." He was very aggitated to to be safe, I paid the bill and filed a complaint with Woods immediately and called USAA to dispute the bill. The company also told me that they offer a 15% Veteran discount which they did not include on the bill. I reviewed the videos of the technican which captured the arrival time at 1:11 PM and the departure time at 2:15 PM. At 1:34 PM, the technicivan removes freon from my unit. The supervisor I spoke to at Woods told me that his technican arrived on time and that the time stamp on his truck was recorded. The timestamp on my video is correct and I was on a conference call at the time so I know what time he arrived. To be clear, I did not authorize the technician to conduct any work without my consent. I was assured, when I made the appointment, that no work would be done until I approved the work and estimated cost. That is an important step in the process. You cannot expect for customers to simply pay whatever you charge without first agreeing to the charge. The only charge I agreed to was the site visit. The technician never provided me with an estimate. He simply released freon from my unit and then input freon from a pink container using a/c pressure gages. Then he presented me with the bill. He could see my surprise on my face when he told me the cost and that he had already done the work without first presenting an estimate to me. I told him, that I would pay it but that I was going to complain. He stated, that he didn't like being called a liar and that I didn't owe anything. I told him again that I would pay but would file a complaint. He was very agitated and to be safe, I paid the bill with an intent to dispute the bill. He finished his invoice and I paid. In summation, don't tell customers that they will be made aware of the issues and provided an estimate of cost before the work is done if you are not going to follow your own policy. Secondly, do not charge customers for freon that your own technician releases. I paid and signed because that was the right thing to do; however, as I told the technician, I was going to file a complaint. I've started the process to dispute the charge with USAA and have provided them with my video evidence and the process the technician should have followed.

They were excellent, they have a person designated in this area, they built a reputation, they were professional, communicate well, friendly, on time and I would use them again.

They can be a little pricey sometimes for some of the services. The work they do is good; their work is excellent. But their price point, I don't know. I think sometimes they take advantage of the convenience of what I need done because they work in a different city than where i live. I probably should be more diligent to find someone who's a little bit conservative, but it's been convenient so I think they're aware of the convenience.

I purchased a new home with an HVAC system installed by Woods. After moving in there was a tag hanging from my thermostat that explained that I needed to call to activate a 10-year warranty. I took care of the call on my end but my request fell through the cracks and was not initiated properly. To make a long story short, Woods will not honor their warranties and I would suggest taking your business elsewhere.

The Woods team responded to a commercial system failure Christmas Eve day, and the technician was on site quickly and we were up and running in a couple of hours. On a more recent occasion a Woods technician made a sudden service call on our home during the cold snap. Once again quick response and professional service. We will continue to use Woods.

Needless to say, this was not a very good experience. This is the same company was that was the prior owners maintenance company and they have been trying to solve this problem for 2+ years. The technician came out and checked the system and said we needed a new electronic expansion valve at a cost of over a thousand dollars; no final price, just a little over a grand. I asked what was their hourly rate and was told they do jobs on a flat rate charge. This was about twice as much as it should have cost if the valve was actually faulty. I did not hire them to do the job and I called a Trane certified a/c company to get a 2nd opinion. They came out and performed a thorough check and everything was good with system. This same company told me what to check to see if an outdoor air damper was stuck open. I did find the outside air damper stuck in the open position and was able to close it. Woods had over 2 years to discover this damper that was stuck open from the initial install and they never found it, as it was pretty obvious. Not sure how much the prior owners had paid this company to trouble shoot this same problem, but I know they have been out to the house several times to no avail.

They installed my system, so I have a continued warranty with them. They charge $14.95 a month.

They put in a system that I did not order. They changed the system without talking to me about changing the system. I would say to use caution. I do use them all of the time.

Don't put any stock into this review, as I didn't want to add any comments but I get a request to fill it out every time I open up Angies List and finally got tired of seeing it.

I bought this -- last summer -- because I needed a service call. I honestly don't recall if they applied it or not, nor do I recall how the visit went. It obviously wasn't terrible nor specifically memorable in a good way either.

The AC/heating installers came in like a tornado and got everything installed and working within two days and did not leave as much as a dust particle behind in the house. They were friendly, respectful, and efficient. After the new unit was installed, one of the installers suggested that I insulate the attic. By that time I trusted them and decided to go for another $1500 for that job. Our house is 3900 SF and totally electric, so I thought having two central AC/heating units would be very expensive, but my utilities were so cheap after the insulation job that I thought the power bill had a misprint. It was even better when I had new windows installed in the lower level. I am so pleased with Woods that I purchase an annual maintenance program, something I have never done. I love these guys.

Installation went well! Then a year later we found out it was installed improperly causing air leakage into the attic and sky high bills. Even with this, I would call it a positive experience.
