Baker Hughes

I have been in the trucking and transportation industry for going on 23 years and I have never experienced such poor service as I had with the security personnel at this facility. I have hauled loads for Baker Hughes numerous times and usually have a positive experience working with the company in general. I am well aware that the security personnel do not in any way represent the company as a whole, however, they are the first point of contact and do not provide a positive view on the company. I visited on Dec. 30, 2022 @0900 to drop off an empty trailer to be pre-loaded by the facility. After waiting in the middle of the road to be able to pull into the check in area for almost 45 minutes I advised the girl at the window why I was there and handed her my paperwork. She had a poor attitude from the start and immediately closed the window acting as if I had disturbed her getting her nails done or something. I stood there for another 10 minutes with no communication from her about anything. She then opened the window and asked me AGAIN, why I was there. I advised...I am dropping off an empty tanker trailer to be pre-loaded. Again, she closed the window without saying anything and another 10-15 minutes goes by only for a second security guard to come to the window and ask what was I doing exactly? After explaining to them yet a third time, they advised I cannot come in because my trucking company name doesn't match what's on the pick-up / loading paperwork (brokers company name is commonly on the loading paperwork instead of the carrier's name). After explaining to them the difference between a "broker" and a "carrier" they finally figured out what was going on and let me drop my trailer after nearly an hour and a half of incompetency. Fast forward 24 hours, the driver taking the load on the road shows up only to be told that trailer is not there, and they don't know what he is talking about!!! I receive a phone call from dispatch asking WHERE IS THE TRAILER?!?!?! Ummmm...yeah...Its exactly where they told me to drop it off!!! After finally convincing these security people how to do their jobs correctly, they find the trailer but guess what.... It is not loaded, and they don't know when it will be. At this point I can only assume they screwed up the paperwork when checking the trailer in somehow.... who knows. I would be speculating at this point, but I think it's fair to assume they screwed up based on the previous days complete incompetent display. It should never take an hour and a half to drop off an empty trailer!! The bottom line is this.... Baker Hughes needs to seriously reevaluate the security company they are using at this facility. There is nothing secure about the work these people are doing. This is a simple and common transaction that I personally perform every single day for numerous major companies, and I have never seen such incompetency in my years of experience doing this work. These security guards are unprofessional, rude and condescending to truck drivers entering the facility. These are important, highly sensitive and security sensitive transactions that require better attention to details and there is no room for these kinds of mistakes. People's lives are at stake when handling chemicals and this level of incompetency is unacceptable. These guards need to either be retrained or fired. I don't want anyone to lose a job, but I hope I do not experience this again with these same security guards.

Who's nicer: Hughes or Baker ??

Check in process is very slow. Most times there are multiple tractor trailers idle waiting to turn into the facility from the public street, (Very Very dangerous) constantly and often creating a traffic jam on Baypark Road.

Load by appointment. I went ahead lady in shipping warehouse went to fork guys to load but they refused .overall good experience quick loading on appointment

Fast loading . 24 hours. Employees are polite

Update to my past review. The last one was short and to the point. Several years ago. Still coming on a regular basis making deliveries. The people become acquaintances. Checking in with the guards is the high light of the visit. Getting to know the techs that do the unloading is another part of the adventure that's always good from start to finish.

The work was phenomenal and I would highly recommend them. The gentleman came out he was professional, courteous, knew what he was doing, and was quick and efficient.

The service was good and it was easy. They knew what their doing. They explained everything to me and got the job done.
