The owner and his employees are inconsiderate. They have a dually truck that would have no problem in the snow covered alleys. But they feel no need to use the alleys to park. No. They think it is okay to move residents chairs that have been placed after we spent hours shoveling the 8 inches of snow that covered our cars. I would never and neither should you.

They were sent by my home warranty company for an AC unit. Diagnosed the problem as a leaking coil. Total cost was $2100 + the part purchased by my home warranty company. I had a second opinion done by a service I trust and used before and it was a $5 fix + the service charge. I’ll pay a bit more for a visit from a company I can trust to do the job right and fairly.

Very professional! My home warranty company hooked me up with York Mechanical. I was contacted within 2 hours of when claim generated and technician scheduled the next day. Technician John very pleasant, mannerly, arrived within time slot and 20 minutes from “on my way call.” John targeted the problem within minutes due to his many years of experience. Gave a temporary solution until a part needing to be ordered came in. With in the week part arrived John was back the next morning . A furnace working properly again!

Outstanding Service and Rapid Response We had an unexpected issue with our air conditioning system on a Friday evening in July, right when the summer heat was at its peak. York Mechanical Services came to our rescue with their outstanding service. Despite it being the weekend, a technician arrived within a few hours of our call, quickly diagnosing that our system had lost all its coolant due to a ruptured line. Given the severity of the issue, we were worried that the repairs would take weeks, especially since we needed a complete system replacement. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the speed and efficiency of York Mechanical. John, the owner, provided us with a fair and transparent quote first thing Monday morning. Despite initially expecting a week or two for the parts to arrive, the team returned on Wednesday and worked diligently over the next few days, completing the installation by Friday. Given the complexity of the job and the size of our three-story colonial home, the turnaround time was remarkably quick. The top floor, which gets unbearably hot, was cool and comfortable again by the weekend, which we greatly appreciated. The work was completed exactly as promised and even ahead of schedule. York Mechanical Services went above and beyond to expedite our repair, providing us with top-notch service at a fair price. We couldn't be happier with the outcome and highly recommend them for their professionalism, reliability, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Our furnace went out in our home and York Mechanical Services came out the same day to take a look at it. They went above and beyond to help us get our furnace back up and running. They even traveled far to get the part we needed to be able to have heat the same day. I am so pleased with their timeliness and their compassion on helping us get our furnace working so that we wouldn't freeze. I will forever be a customer of theirs! Can't thank these guys enough.

John was early, polite, knowledgeable, and explained things in a way that was simple to understand. He needed materials but was back in less then 35 minutes. The job was done in less then 30 minutes itself. John was great! Highly recommend him an this company for any thing needed for plumbing or electrical.

I would give them zero stars if it was possible. Came and did a tune up on my propane furnace a couple weeks ago and told me everything was good and ready to go. Turned on last night and woke up to the house at 62 degrees. Called and ask them to come back out and was told I could pay another service charge if I wanted to schedule an appointment. What a joke of a company

Within 30 minutes of placing a service request we had a technician scheduled to arrive the same day. The technician arrived within the time frame given and was very professional. Work was completed efficiently and we were beyond satisfied with the work. John and Michelle over at York Mechanical are god sends and saved the day for our family. They are extremely efficient, professional and courteous. John has gone above and beyond the standard to get us the highest quality and most efficient system for a price that is well below the market standard. Furthermore the personal touch is what makes all the difference. When you are treated like the only customer it instills the confidence and security in a high value purchase. Our AC stopped working on a Sunday in the middle of July. A service ticket was submitted to our home warranty company, who selected York Mechanical to diagnose the issue. Allie came out the following Wednesday and determined the compressor was bad, but due to the age of the unit, she recommended a new unit versus a bandaid repair. She was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Two days later, I finally received the quote from John. He is the reason we will absolutely never use this company. When asked how long until install, he said 2 to 3 weeks. I sighed, which then prompted him to tell me that I was getting a deal on the unit only because of the home warranty company. He would charge me more than double. He said I could try to call around for pricing and quicker availability but would be unsuccessful. He mentioned that if anyone could install sooner than two weeks, they weren't a reputable company and that he wouldn't dare use them. I told him I'd get back to him after speaking with my husband. Needless to say, I contacted two other contractors that morning. Both were at my house later that afternoon. Both were cheaper than his discounted rate, and both could install on Monday. Needless to say, we are going with someone else. I read similar reviews about this company before they came to my home. Unfortunately, I was at the mercy of American Home Shield. Homeowner beware!

York Mechanical was hired to work on my second floor radiators that had gone cold. Johnathan was timely, professional, and courteous. He also has excellent communication skills, as he answered my questions and addressed my concerns. He even followed up to see how everything was working. York Mechanical has consistently provided me with excellent service over the years. I am so happy that I have heat again on my second floor. I highly recommend York Mechanical.

I got York Mechanical to send a plumber for several different services beginning with a pipe leak. They sent John. I highly recommend York mechanical and I especially thank John for his skill and courtesy. He's very personable and he helped us understand some of the problems we were having. I called my home warranty company because I had seen water leaking down into my basement, they sent this company out to diagnose the problem. The repairman figured out right away what was wrong but also in doing that found some other things that were in dire need of repair. He went and purchased parts and repaired everything very quickly and efficiently and the cost was very fair! I would highly recommend them.

I am unsure how this company would behave with customers that need their service without a warranty company getting involved. However, when using a warranty company, York Mech is just a stressful company to have to work with. From the start, Michelle was extremely unfriendly, unprofessional, and uninterested in any of our HVAC issues. We started experiencing AC issues on July 31st, when they were initially contacted. It is now Aug 18th, and they are just now coming out to the house for a diagnostic of the unit. Now, they did send someone to top off our freon/puron back on Aug 1st, and since then they just haven't had time to assist us in any way, nor do they seem to care. They did get us scheduled for an evaporator coil replacement on Aug 26th (26 days after we started experiencing issues and without an actual diagnostic of the HVAC system) where we would need to pay $1517 in modifications. They also sent us a quote for a full replacement for $9381 (out of pocket) where in the fine print next to the total it states, “Includes help from home warranty”. We contacted the warranty company and they said that our warranty covers parts and labor but not modifications. Now, how can you tell me that it will cost me $9381 in modifications to replace an HVAC system? So, off the bat, it appears that this company has grossly inflated all their additional parts for modifications, or it appears that they are double dipping. The transparency is missing. We contacted another company (on the 15th) who came out to the house the same day, after we were tired of waiting on York. They were at the house for a while diagnosing our AC unit and found multiple issues (all unrelated to the evaporator coil). We then took their information over to York mechanical to encourage them to come diagnose our issues. John seemed overly irritated that we reached out for a second opinion and was unconvinced on the information we provided. That is when he finally agreed to come conduct an actual and initial diagnosis of the system on August 18th. When he came in, he did a quick analysis to confirm we did need an evaporator coil then left before putting freon in. Our final assessment is that this company just doesn’t have customer service experience to manage and assist people and therefor they lack communication and social skills entirely. They have also shown us zero knowledge or experience within the HVAC industry. That isn’t saying that they lack that knowledge/experience, they just haven’t shown us anything to prove their knowledge on the system. Because York Mechanical was our only option through the warranty company, we believe that is why we were treated poorly with no sense of urgency (lack of competition and guaranteed payment). To conclude: We wound up agreeing to work with the secondary company, as opposed to dealing with York trying to simply rob us with unnecessary modifications that would cost over $10k at the end of the day (or the year, at the speed they were willing to assist). The other company was much cheaper even without warranty coverage. We lost all trust with York Mechanical through our experience so even if they came back and decided to gravely decrease the quoted costs and reverse the attitude, we would still turn them down because we couldn’t trust them or count on them to do anything correctly. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how much accurate information you know or have, if you can’t be trusted then no one will believe you or be able to rely on you. Lastly, unrelated to our issues, but related to the experience, John seems to treat women as if they are beneath him and a waste of his time. If you read the review posted on Aug 11th from another customer, it would seem I was not the only one treated that way either. I called to talk to a technician (John) and every question I asked, I was scoffed at and spoken very harshly to as if it just wasn’t my place to be speaking to him. Who knows, maybe this is how he talks to and treats everyone, but that does not get respect or repeat customers.

I had a drain backup and my home warranty provider hired York Mechanical. Although they gave me a wide timeframe, they were able to squeeze me in before the weekend and were able to get me out the door on time to make an appointment. Thanks to Michelle in the office and Gene who came out with a smile and quick, professional service.

John my service technician arrived within the scheduled timeframe and came prepared to work. He was able to fix our problem in a timely manner and provide solutions to prevent future problems. Also while fixing the one problem we came across another issue which could have resulted in a major problem. John was able to fix each problem, educate us on the cause of each problem, and provide solutions/preventive measures. Thanks John
