Yelp
I hate writing bad reviews and I hate having to tell long stories. My experiences with Climate Control over the last few years make a looong story. And I will tell it when I am in the mood to do so. But for now, know that I have bought 2 A/C systems from them in the recent past and in both cases the installs were full of surprises, all caused by Climate Control. No outright disasters, but close. They seem like a happy-go-lucky bunch when it comes to details and follow-thru, which means you might get what you paid for or you might not. Quality control, service, and coordination are downright sloppy. I now have to conclude you are gambling when you hire them. I don't like to gamble when I am making expensive purchases. I want to know what I am being sold, and I want it installed right. They can't seem to do that, so I won't be using them anymore. I certainly can't recommend them!

Yelp
I don't usually post negative reviews, I just stop doing business there. However after this last weeks experience I need to warn you about doing business with them. I have used Climate Control for several years and have had an annual service agreement for two visits a year plus a discount on additional parts and labor. Overall the service and timeliness has been fine up to now. The fall service was scheduled for Friday the 4th between 9 -12. At noon called them as no one had showed up or contacted me. Was told that the tech was going to be 1.5 hours late. Rescheduled for Monday the 7th , 8 am. Tech showed up, did the service and recommended an additional service. Service recommendation was justified, price was not. Wanted $425 after discount to clean the blower fan and motor, which was dirty. Checked another vendor with 4+ star rating, price is $247 after discount. General price range on line for this service is $150 to $300. When I called to let them know I thought they were overcharging, they hung up on me. Buyer beware.

Yelp
We have used Climate Control for many years. We purchased both a furnace and AC unit from them and have them service the units every 6 months, once for the furnace, once for the AC unit. I have been really pleased with the service, Gabriel in particular. He was very professional and thorough. Everything he did was explained, as well as what to watch for with an older furnace and AC unit. Thank you !!

Yelp
Beware! STAY AWAY FROM CLIMATE CONTROL. Read all the reviews on here and believe the customers when they say these guys are fraudulent! They upcharge by 1000x, they LIE, they can't even get their employees scheduling sorted out! What a freaking nightmare I had to go through with this company yesterday. After my grandmother's long commitment to them of 15+ years, we finally decided to find a better, HONEST, polite, PROFESSIONAL company to work with. Goodbye Climate Control. We are also contacting the better business bureau like many other reviewers!

Yelp
We initially had Climate Control install our new heating and cooling system. At that time they did a good job. We just recently had them out, my husband requested a new thermostat as we were having issues with it. He also stated to please have annual service and a new filter. We were quoted for the annual service and filter and was told the thermostat was under warranty. I met them at the house, the service repair man was very nice. He did not have the thermostat we needed in his van, so he would have to come back. After speaking with my husband he left to go pick one up and came back. The thermostat was on warranty so I was told it would just be labor. I understand that it would be a bit extra since I assumed we were paying labor in the annual service. Nope they also dropped a $200.00 flat labor fee on us. Casey never gave my husband that price at any time when they spoke on the phone. I too work in the customer service industry. If you do not feel comfortable disclosing your costs then you do not believe in them and thus should not be charging them. Very disappointed. When my husband called back to discuss with Casey and questioned why he would schedule the technician to come out when they did not have our thermostat or why he never disclosed the labor prices he back pedaled. I unfortunate referred someone there after we got our furnace but will not do that ever again. If having them out make sure they disclose all of their prices.

Yelp
This company has put the same part on my AC two times and it continues to go out. Part was jmunitially changed in October. Same part went back out in July. Climate control sent the same guy out to change the same part again. Now 2-3 weeks later my AC is blowing, then a burst of hot musky air comes out if the vents. Thermostat is set at 72 and room air is not and registering 77 and gradually goes up. Since they put this part on Light bill has gonw up $80. The old lady that answers and schedules us rude, loud, and I would never recommend them at all

Yelp
We had a system put in 11 months ago and we thought they did a great job. However, my husband went down and had to change the filter 6 months in when it should have not needed to be changed for a year and realize that they did not seal up anything That was supposed to be sealed up. Finally after them coming out four different times Eric spent several hours here fixing what should have been done in the 1st place & putting in the correct filter system. We are happy with the work that he did add when I went above the original peoples heads I was able to get some answers and am satisfied.

Yelp
I would definitely recommend Climate Control for your HVAC needs. Ben, the initial Consultant, came out initially & gave me an estimate for replacing my inefficient roof-top AC unit & electric furnace with a roof-top heat pump in my mid-rise condo downtown in Dec 2017. He was prompt, courteous, & very professional. The transaction was seamless. A few weeks later, Lance & crew did an excellent job with the installation over 3 days. Josh, Sales Coord, in the office was also very pleasant to work with re the energy rebates/tax credit paperwork. Everyone of my contacts with Climate Control were very professional & easy to work with; I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this company & would highly recommend them. Tim Godfrey

Yelp
My mother-in-law recommended Climate Control, having had a good experience with them repairing her A/C. So, we gave them a call for a furnace which is giving us trouble, and they gave us an appointment for that Saturday morning at 10am. Well, 10 went by, then 10:30, 11, 12... It is now after 1:00pm, and we never even got a phone call. This is not the way to run a business. UPDATE: Turns out that the appointment was booked at a time the technician couldn't come, and though he tried to call, "the secretary gave me the wrong phone number." Each mistake on its own might be understandable and potentially forgivable, but together they make me think this business is not very well organized. Still looking for a different company to help us. UPDATE 2: Decided to give them another try. A guy came out on a Thursday, we liked him, he said he'd have an estimate put together by tomorrow (Friday). Here we are at the following Thursday, an entire week later, and we have yet to hear from them, in spite of nudging them a couple of times. This business seems riddled with ineptitude, and they really just don't seem to want our business. Now looking on Angie's list for someone who actually cares.

Yelp
I had the most amazing experience with Brett, Dennis and John from climate Control. I had a home Comfort system that had been giving me trouble for years. Finally it fully died in the middle of our lovely heat wave this summer. I was beside myself. they came within a day, gave me the bad news of telling me I needed a new system and scheduled to install a new unit within weeks. This was right in the middle of their busiest time of year, yet they made the time for me. I have 2 young boys who don't do well in heat and can't tell you how grateful I was for them. They did a quick and easy installation and made sure I knew how to use my new system. I was beyond impressed. Can't recommend these guys enough. Job well done. Thank you so much!!!

Yelp
Hello, I recently had my HVAC unit stop working in my condo unit. I called Climate Control for an estimate. Eric Hoyes came out and told me I need to have my indoor motor blower and main printed circuit board replaced due to them being defective. The estimate for repairs was $1,193.00 I thought this was rather high for the repairs so I sought out a 2nd opinion. American heating came and opened up the ceiling to find the entire unit disassembled. He said he had no way to diagnose issues with the mess and it would take quite awhile to put it back together for a proper diagnosis. I had him put the unit back together so he could start from scratch. After 2 hours he determined the problem was a $16 part that had gone bad and was able to fix it. I was charged for a few hours labor so the bill ended up being $286.00. I believe climate control was being fraudulent and deceptive telling me repairs for things that weren't actually broken. I would highly recommend staying away from Climate Control and will be sharing my information with the better business bureau. Climate control was apologetic when confronted with the issue, refunded my money, and sent me a gift card. I believe they did this because thew knew they were completely in the wrong for their deceptive practices. Thanks

Yelp
We've been in our home now for almost 4 years. The owners prior to us used Climate Control every 6 months as far back as 2005(according to the sheet on our furnace). The company is easy to schedule, and we just book regularly 6 months out. Everything's been running great. Their techs are unobtrusive, speedy, and courteous. Check them out! 2017 #13

Yelp
We have a house built in the 70's and while we had a "real" laundry room, the furnace and tank water heater occupied the already small space. When we decided it was time to replace the furnace and water heater we knew we wanted to relocate them to the garage. Brett was the one to come out from Climate Control. He is knowledgeable and great to chat with, and his bid on the job came back lower than his competition - It made the decision easy They started the project on a Monday and worked through the week, finishing on Friday. They had to work around the schedule of an electrician as well as a plumber, and also wait on the inspectors for the new gas line to the tankless water heater. Despite all the juggling, we were never without hot water, and we only had one night without heat - which we were expecting due to relocating the furnace. Climate Control provided portable heaters that kept us perfectly comfortable that night, so it was not an issue in the slightest. The entire project went as planned and promised. The installers were nice, clean, courteous, and happy to answer my questions (I'm a curious guy). Throughout the project Brett checked in several times in person to make sure it was going as planned, and he stopped by the following Monday to make sure everything was working properly after we had lived with it for the weekend. Very happy with the results. It's been about 3 weeks and everything is working perfectly. The new installations *look* great, everything is routed neatly and installed very nice. I almost forgot, you can tell where they were working in my garage because it's spotless. They swept and vacuumed when they were finished leaving it immaculate. I should have moved my car out so they could clean the whole garage lol Without hesitation I would recommend Climate Control to others!!

Yelp
We first became acquainted with Climate Control (CC) 7 years ago when we switched from electric to gas heat. Purchased new furnace (Carrier High Efficiency unit) and a Home Comfort Zone system (now http://emme-inc.com) from CC. Subsequently purchased a flow through hot water heater (Navien) from CC. We had yearly service contracts with them. But how we wish we had read Yelp Reviews. As other reviews have stated the sales rep, Jason is competent, knowledgable and a pleasure to have worked with. In contrast, their service is incompetent, shoddy, unresponsive and downright horrendous. Starting with a Honeywell electrostatic air cleaner element that failed prematurely, we had to pull teeth to get it replaced under warranty. It wasn't Honeywell that balked, but getting Climate Control to do the necessary leg work was onerous. It took literally months of prodding by telephone to finally get the job done. On installation they put the air cleaner elements in upside down, which caused continuous arcing. On telephoning we were told we weren't cleaning the elements enough. Ultimately they did come out and found and corrected their service error ("shoddy"). The hot water heater developed a leak in one of the valves a few months ago. On calling CC, it immediately became obvious they really had no idea on how to service this piece of equipment, perhaps because they don't sell/service many of them ("incompetent"). Nevertheless, I called Navien; they immediately diagnosed the problem and sent me the $20 part, which I was easily able to install myself and save a whole lot of money (see below). This winter, we were using much more gas than in prior winters, yet the furnace did not seem to be doing the job, possibly because our contracted maintenance had been provided only sporadically. I opened the furnace cover and noticed a fault code was flashing. I called to have the thing serviced and at 11:00 that morning we were told by the dispatcher that someone would be out between 12 Noon and 3 PM. Just before 3 PM the dispatcher called and told us that the servicer would be late. Discussing this with the dispatcher, I maintained that she must have known that the time window we were given was unrealistic. She became hostile, at which point I asked to be connected with the owner. I was told he was on the phone but would be right with me. After a few minutes on hold, I was asked to leave a message for him. I did so, asking him to call me back regarding a "customer service issue." Like a startling number of other reviews here, after nearly 2 weeks, I've never heard from him ("unresponsive"). When the service person showed up at approx. 3:30 PM, he measured a few voltages, called the office and, on being instructed to flip a couple of dip switches, called it good. I called his attention to the alarm light on the condensate pump (Diversitech CP-22). He thought it was caused by the secondary float not working, remarked that he had never seen this condition before and, because the pump was still working, I shouldn't worry about it. But, if I wanted, he offered to install a new pump for $275 right then and there. I declined, taking his word that I shouldn't worry about it. He then informed me that the flipping of the switches would cost me $105 for the service call and $90 for the actual repair, i.e., the flipping of two dip switches -- a total of under 30 minutes on-site. He told me that the next time something like this happened, I should just kill the power to the furnace, allow it to reset, and that would more than likely have taken care of such a thing, now or in the future. In line with other reviews here, clearly gouging the homeowner is the Climate Control way of doing business. Six hours later, we were without heat because the pump had failed. I now was faced with a cold house and decided to take the pump apart. However, because of incompetent installation, the pump could not be taken apart. The rigid PVC drain rested on the bottom of the tank, so it could not be lifted off its mounting. Nor could it be dropped down because it was sitting on top of the air cleaner ("a downright horrendous error") in installation of the pump. It was for this reason, I wholeheartedly believe, that the servicer didn't want to touch the thing. After fiddling for about 45 minutes prying and hoping that I would not break the tank, I was able to partially open the pump assembly and wiggle the float to get it working again, at least temporarily. Come to find out -- one could buy this pump for less than $30 on several sites on the internet or locally (yes, you're reading this right: approx. $30 retail for what Climate Control proposed installing for $275. After purchasing Diversitech's top float-less ClearVue Model (instead of the cheaper CP-22) for $64, I needed less than 10 minutes to install the thing. Would this pump have cost $600? Needless to say, we have switched HVAC providers. STAY AWAY FROM CLIMATE CONTROL!

Yelp
After several weeks, four service calls, three different technicians, over $1000 spent and another $2000+ quote, I had two other companies look at my AC unit. Both companies said the safety switches were incorrectly wired (by Climate Control). An easy $275 fix and finally working just fine.

Yelp
Their phone receptionist was prompt, and quickly got me to a scheduler. Two days later during a warm snap, their service technician arrived, addressed the issues and got us up and running.

Yelp
The install of AC and new furnace was good save the location of a venting pipe. Called them up and they did a better job of locating it. Overall, I'm satisfied with the install and would give them 4 stars. They sold me a service plan for $280/yr which consisted of 2 service calls per year, cleaning, adjustments and make sure everything was working OK. The visits consisted of a service tech looking at everything for what couldn't have been 15 minutes. No cleaning, no report, no nothing. I called them to let them know my feedback as a good customer should tell you what they like and dislike so you can improve or make things right. The person I talked to, either the owner or manager, after I explained how little I thought about the service visits over the year, only told me was it so and so? He's gone now. No apology, no thanks for the feedback, no offer to make things right. All he could muster as an answer was an indifferent, 'OK'. Guess what, no more money, no more service calls and a bad review for your total lack of customer service, value of the maintenance service and total indifference. Avoid.

Yelp
After 12 years and many thousands of dollars, I'm done. Charged me $550 for 15 minutes to change out a capacitor that Home Depot sells for less than $10. I called and they said someone would contact. Did that happen? NO! I would have been happy at a $250 or so for finding the problem. But $550? Really.

Yelp
Had Carrier furnace installed in 2002; the system failed several times and a new board and flow motor was replaced by the company in 2009. Continued failure (no heat) several times with 2 replacement of condensate pumps in the mean time until the furnace stopped working a few weeks. The system was found to have been improperly installed in 2002 resulting in corrosion of the heat exchange wires which was clearly evident once the entire system was removed (by another company). Extremely disappointed with Climate Control and a very expensive deal considering we had to buy a new furnace after only 14 years of heartache due to the company's negligence.

Yelp
Climate Control prices are excessively high. After reading about similar issues on the internet, I realized that our flame sensor needed cleaning. I called Climate Control and told them what the problem was and made an appointment. They charged a $105 diagnostic fee and $265 for cleaning the burners and flame sensor. Browsing the internet, the going rate for this is $80-$160. We paid $370. The diagnostic fee is particularly galling since I had already diagnosed the problem. The dispatcher insists that they charge that every time and it is a fee for them showing up. I won't use them again.

Yelp
I have used Climate Control for several years now and have always had a positive experience. Everybody I have dealt with has been friendly and professional. They are responsive when I call and they are able to schedule an appointment within a few days. This last time they even were out the next day when my heater was acting up. The biggest compliment I can leave them is that I will continue to use Climate Control for my heating maintenance.

Yelp
Did our furnace replacement a fews year back & we get the maintenance on a service contract. Prompt, polite, good value.

Yelp
This is an addition to the review that Timothy R. placed on June 10, 2015. We are his parents and, yes, the AC quit the night before we were leaving for an extended trip. Not only have we used Climate Control for service in the past, but they are the ones who installed our heat pump. It was 3 years ago, almost to the day, that the AC died. They said it was a capacitor and charged us over $300 to replace it. Fast forward to this time it died. After so many problems in trying unsuccessfully to get the technician to even arrive here to work on it, our son went to another company. This new technician said the reason the capacitor had died so soon (after only 3 years) is because a low grade, poor quality part was installed and, not only that, but it was installed upside down! Now we have the correct capacitor and here's the topper: the cost was almost $100 less than Climate Control charged us 3 years ago. Less money for a better quality part means we'll never go back to Climate Control.

Yelp
GO TO SOMEONE ELSE My parents' air conditioner died on Sunday (the day before they left on a two and a half week trip) and they asked that I call Climate Control (they had used them in the past) while they were gone so they didn't have a sweltering house to come home to. They left Monday morning and I gave Climate Control a call later that day and talked to their dispatcher, Gary, who told me that the earliest they could get out to the house was Wednesday (two days later) with a window of 12-3 pm and he'd try to get them out here towards the first part of the window. Fast forward to Wednesday, I drive over to my parents house before noon and wait. 3 PM rolls around and I give Climate Control a call and get Gary again. I asked him about the 12-3 window and he said that he had said it was 'typically" 12-3 and that they were busy and his guy would get to me in 30 minutes, 45 minutes tops. He was not apologetic in the slightest. Fast forward over 90 minutes later and I call back and talk to Gary again and ask him what's going on and he says the guy will be to me in 10 minutes. I ask him what happened to 45 minute tops, since it's now over an hour and a half later, and he had originally said a window of 12-3. He got very argumentative and asked if I wanted to cancel my appointment and when I told him no, but that you don't give definite times if you're not sure and that my phone recorded all my calls and I had proof of exactly what he had said, he told he wasn't going to argue with me and then told me to have a nice day. Fast forward 15 minutes (5 minutes past when Gary told me the tech would be here) and Gary calls back to apologize, saying "It's been a bad day and that's no reason to take it out on you" and that the technician was 1 minute away. Fast forward 5 minutes (what happened to 1 minute?) and the technician calls to tell me that his phone and his tablet gave him different directions to my parents house (they don't live even remotely off the beaten path and there is no difficulty mapping or getting to their place) and that he would be there in 15 minutes. At this point I told him to forget it. I'm going to go with a business with employees who conducts themselves like professionals.
