If I could give Zero Stars I would, but fortunately for Centerpoint Energy reviews don't affect their business since they are a monopoly. I own three businesses and if I ran my company like they did, I would be out of business in a week. It is not that hard to build a website or mobile app that is easy to use. I have spent over an hour trying to find my statement, pay my bill using a bank account that is saved in my profile and set up auto payment none of which I have been able to find or do on your site. Horrible experience!

Horrible communication They did not tell us when they were coming out to our new place that they needed access inside. I get to our place on Friday and see 2 notices saying they needed inside access. I missed the second notice by 15 minutes. All they had to do was call when they came the first time and I would have been at the place the second time they came out as I was only 5 minutes away from the house. The lady I had on the phone was so unhelpful and didn’t care that THEY turned off my gas IN MINNESOTA after not communicating they needed to be inside and would only set an appointment for Monday. So frustrating. I would use a different company if I could and sounds like a lot of others would based on all their poor reviews they have.

Added hsp to account without permission. Never used and won't credit back when I never authorized the charge in the first place. Being charged to service a boiler? When's the last time a new house was installed with one. Pretty shady

These guys are terrible. An absolute joke. Been with them for 4 years. When we moved into our new home we requested our payment date be set to the end of the month. They said no problem. They never set it to the end of the month instead setting it to the 15th. Didnt think anything of it and just always paid at the end of the month. I have never let a bill go past the end of the month and never even had a late fee added to my account. They stopped out today threatening to disconnect us as my bill had not been paid yet. No letter, no phone call no warning. If they would have had the decency to check my account they would have seen ive never missed a payment in 4 years and the bill would have been paid the following day just like every other month over the last 4 years. The least they could have done is have the decency to call and fix the issue of my billing date they set incorrectly in the first place or just notify me if needed to be paid ASAP. Nope, instead they send a 3rd party company out that stood at my door and demanded the bill be paid or they would disconnect. The bill in question wasnt even 15 days past due and money isnt a problem. I was just going off of what I thought we had agreed on and what I had done for the last 4 years with no problems. Would switch companies if I could. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have wasted the last 4 months contacting this company multiple times per week due to the fact I was not receiving a bill. Each time I was told “a supervisor will research your concern and be in touch”. Finally, today I apparently got someone who had a brain because in a matter of 30 seconds they were able to tell me that this company doesn’t even service my house! While it wasn’t their fault I was incorrectly informed of my gas company, there is absolutely zero reason I should have been, 1. Able to “start service” at my address online, 2. Given the run around for 4 months when it was clearly an easy check. If you have the choice, I would recommend getting service with another company, they clearly don’t have a clue what’s going on.

I have tried several different times to get service done on my furnace and I always have to cancel the appointment because they always extend their time frame to 11 pm at night. Which is stupid. I go to bed at 10 and I had one scheduled for today from 2 to 8 and then at 6 they changed the time to 11 pm. No way.

No notice that they were disconnecting service for non payment. No notice that my account was past due. No notice that they had canceled my auto pay without my consent. But no shortage annoying marketing emails. It's like they intentionally mess you. One day randomly your gas appliances don't work. Standard utility monopoly behavior.

The worst company in the USA. They are scammers and liars. I will definitely report my concern to the state and better business bereau . Last month in April I paid $285 if I can recall correctly. On Friday May 17th 2024 while I was at my car dealership, I received a call from my mom that someone is wearing a vest and parked his vehicle on the street is standing by our door. Hence, my mom cannot speak English I asked her to hand over the phone to that person let me talk to him. My mom gave him the phone and I ask what can I help? He responded that he's from centerpoint energy and he's here to disconnect my gas. I responded to him last month I paid $285 and this month I didn't even receive a bill much more a disconnection notice. He responded I am here to disconnect and am going ahead to disconnect. I called their office and lodged a complain and they told me my bill is past due for $85 that's why they are disconnecting the service. I responded you guys never sent me a bill more than a month and secondly you never sent me any notification that you will be becoming to disconnect my gas and finally only $85 you are disconnecting my gas. He responded just pay $85 now and your gas will be connected by 2:00 pm. He transfer my call to the automated payment system to make payment and I was charged with extra $29 to reconnect my service and another $2.50 for a third party software, this time they don't want to use my checking account on their file because I believe they are doing some stupid business with that third party to collect the $2.5. I completed my payment and the fund was withdrew from my bank account right away and my service was never reconnect. On Saturday morning the 18th of may 2024 my wife called me while I was in Oshkosh Wisconsin attending a meeting, she told me, I wanted to cook but the cooker if not functioning, I explained the whole story to her and I asked her to call them so that they can come and connect the service. She later called me back and said to me, they said they are closed till Monday. So a family of eighth have to depend on fast food for three days. This is nonsense. This company is doing this deliberately without any single notice just to take the connection fees from the people of Minnesota. The state has to do something to this. I will most likely quit this stupid scamming company and try to change my system to electric cooker.

Probably the worst company. Since they replaced their meter( they did not even tell me why the replaced their meter in the first place), there's no hot water, and the furnace stopped turning on. Had to spend thousands of dollars, still will have to spend more because of what they did. I was there was a different company we could use, but unfortunately they are the only one we got in our city.

I am fully signed up for paperless but they still send notifications of inspections via snail mail. No email or sms to try and set up the 3 year meter inspections, they just show up and expect to come in. It's 2024, I don't want your paper mail and especially not for important reminders.

Never showed up or called and then cancelled my service order twice without any notice after being assured someone would be sent out to assist. They tried to apologize, but immediately did the same thing two hours later. Unfortunately this is not the only time this has happened to myself, or family members. Terrible service all around.

They damaged my floor by leaving a spigot dripping water for three months, finally came and closed the spigot, agreed that there is damage, and have refused to send someone to fix the floor for the last seven months. Donald A. Cunningham has been giving my personal information to random people who he claims will come fix my floor, only for that person to stop responding and never complete the service. Donald A. Cunningham also refuses to answer the phone, give straight answers, or allow others in the organization to take over my account and provide actual service. This company doesn’t care because they don’t believe they need to… who else are we supposed to get this service through? They know we’re locked in based on where we live, and their beyond poor “customer service” is proof that they couldn’t care less.

Same as many other customers, unless you join their $56 per month service plan, the technicians don’t arrive during the scheduled 10 hour window or the rescheduled 7 hour window. I intend to file a complaint with attorney general

I bought a brand new furnace from Centerpoint with the warranty and all. 6 grand!!! 4 months later in the middle of the first month of winter, at temperatures of -10 to 5 it stopped working!!!!!!! I called and was told that there was nothing they could do till the next day, this was 4pm on a Sunday. The only thing they could do was offer me space heaters to be delivered to my house but that could take anywhere between 4-6 hours to get out to me. Take off work the next day because their window to get to me is a ridiculous 8am to 11pm window and they never showed!!!!! This company is a joke, and If I could switch to ANY different company I would. If you have a choice, don't pick this worthless company over any other option!

This company is a crook! They don’t tell you when you’re making an online payment to them that none of that money is going towards your homerservive plus plan. None of it!! So I was making payments for a year and never knew until my plan on shut off for non payment. When I called a lady told me I was never paying on my plan, and I told her yes I was, she proceeded to say “oh if you don’t call us and pay over the phone specifying you want a certain amount to go to home service plus then we don’t receive payment, the money only goes to your regular bill”. CROOKS!!!! Absolute crooks!!

Id honestly give zero stars if I could. Was given a time of 7a-11a for a tech to show up to fix our heat. Just got off the phone to find out that they don't know when someone will be here but they do have a tech assigned and that they will be here at some point later today.

All I can say is this. I only give them one star 🌟 because it couldn't go any lower than that. Centerpoint energy company in Minnesota is the worst energy company in the whole of MINNESOTA. They don't care about you or your family. If you have children it don't move them. They are very fast to disconnect your service but slow to reconnect. They can take up to 3-5 days to reconnect. Poor customer service

This company is a joke. I send payments pretty consistently every 30-45 days. they came out and disconnected my service after I just made a payment and I only old 190 left. kinda ridiculous, however they can get more fees for their profits. Kinda weird. 190 bill is normal fruit cups.

Wife called to report a faint gas smell in kitchen we couldn’t identify as the range, a sink drain or the garbage. A service technician, Derek arrived in less than 30 minutes. He quickly identified it as a gas leak in the oven control valve after the burner was turned off. He then checked the furnace, water heater, dryer and outside meter. Very prompt, very thorough, very efficient, very pleasant interaction. Based on the range’s age of 25+ years he cautioned us in going for a repair versus replacement due to potential high costs for an old item. Note: Having a service contract would have been nice here. Getting an advisement of options with no sales pressure was great. By the way, my wife likes her new range we found in stock at a local (non-big box) appliance store.

Worst billing department ever!!! Don’t ever buy appliances from them had a furnace for 3 years and had to replace the motherboard in it… and the company I had come out told me no one puts these furnaces in because they break down fast.

Had our service shut off in January for $26. No notice just did it. Which ruined our furnace and needed to have specialist come and reset that while trying to keep my family warm when it’s -10 outside
