Customer Reviews

Yelp
My experience as a customer with Mills Air was great for my last service. The technician, Patrick provided a quick service, beside walking me through the repair process. His transparency and positive demeanor really enhanced my experience as Mills' customer

Jason B. was our service representative. Prompt, courteous, and knew what he was doing! Why are there so few in the business like him? Dave H Ocoee

Yelp
On June 06, and June 13 , 2020, I used Mills Air Twice because they left the Shrader valve loose causing all 14 pads of recently charged coolant to escape!: After angrily calling to complain they came out and tightened the valve which should of been done correctly the first time. They even had the audacity to recharge me 270 dollars for the coolant leak they originally caused! I dont know much about AC's but I recalled I told the tech to make sure there weren't any leaks or possible issue to cause another leak of refrigerant.

Yelp
From the experience a friend went through I am glad we did not use them for ours. Phone calls not returned, service people were in training, left them for weeks without AC for 2 weeks in the middle of July after the new unit installed by Mills broke down within weeks of being installed.

Yelp
Mills air installed our AC last spring and did a beautiful job. They serviced the unit today. Jay was the service person--he is a real pro. We moved and Mills installed a new ac unit today. Javier and Ti were the installers. They were great and the new unit, a Carrier, is unbelievable it is so quiet. Steve the service manager is also a real pro. Bravo Mills.

Yelp
Fed up with this company. Every time they come for a service the rate changes. Now I have a unit that's 3 years old that they installed new and they can't figure out why it's not cooling. Unbelievable. ***UPDATE*** I requested to speak to a manager multiple times. Now they call me to collect $80 instead of speak to me about how they couldn't fix my AC. Yeah no...

Yelp
We had a nice experience with Mills Air. Our home's a/c was dying and we solicited bids from several companies for a replacement. We were a little upset with the contractor-grade unit that had been installed in our home originally. We bought a nice home with a less-than-nice air conditioner. Chalk that up as something to beware of if we move! Steve W. was our rep from Mills and he was extremely nice. Out of all the bids we received, Mills was not the cheapest. However, they were not out of line or ridiculous. They also were easy to deal with and we saw added benefits to their slightly more expensive unit. Just for a true apples-to-apples comparison, I asked Steve for a quote on a very specific unit another company recommended. He gave me a quote on that identical unit and it was the same price as that company. We decided not to go with that unit, though, as the one we wound up with just seemed like a better option through our research. It was a personal choice. Our install team was led by Eric and we were seriously impressed by him and his crew. They did the install on a nasty, rainy day, but did a wonderful and very professional job. We were very happy with our installation. Mills did everything we asked. They scheduled the Orange County inspection. They processed the Duke Energy rebate. They gave us a lien release. It was very efficient and professional. Everyone I spoke to from the office, to Steve, to Eric were all easy to deal with and kind. I waited a couple of months to make sure everything seems to be good before I wrote this. Everything seems wonderful. As an added comment: both the Orange County inspector and the Duke Energy inspector complimented the installation without us asking. The OC inspector said he sees all sorts of crazy looking installs, but ours looked extremely well done. Since he sees a/c units all day long and there is no benefit to him telling me that if it were untrue, I would take that as a genuine compliment.

Yelp
So as it stand, Mills Air does not stand behind their 100% guarantee customer satisfaction. I have had to call these guys out 3 times to fix my clogged air handler. It was going to be a 4th time, but I just got off of the phone with the service manager (Mike Antico), who was very unprofessional and his behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Yes, I called him out! My ceiling in my daughter's room has sustained damage and water is now leaking into her room because of whatever replumbing the last service tech performed. Mr. Antico stated that the damage is our fault and Mills Air will not repair the damages. I will never use these fools again and I highly recommend that you don't either. Next step, called the Owner and left a message. Let's see if he calls me back. Let's see if I have to go pay them a visit. Let's see if I may have to get an attorney involved.

Yelp
I am a Mills air customer with a service contract and a 10yr warranty. My unit is two years old. The 24/7 service is not real. The secretary who answers is polite but she explains that the technicians are not required to respond, don't respond to her so she has no idea how many techs are working or if they are. Making a service call is easy but you will get no validation that it was received. After hours 24/7 Is touted several times but no one calls back . They tell you they can come first thing In the morning, but they don't call and confirm. It has been 5 hours since my outage and it's now 2:21a on August 13. It is 92 F in the house. I've called Mills 9 times to get someone to call me and schedule a repair tonight. Mills seems totally useless except that the receptionist is really empathetic, kind, and sweet.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst customer experience I've had in a long time. Even when talking to the "Service Manager" I encountered argumentative, defensive and unpleasant treatment along with a pure lack of consideration. Clearly, this lack of customer care starts at the top. This is a company I'd never again do business with if they weren't already attached to my new home. Mills Air has been less than helpful or effective at resolving problems originating with their poor installation in a brand new home and refuse to work to fix the issue. Terrible experience all around. They've been to my home half a dozen times over a 1-year period to fix a problem with the duct work during installation. We're not dealing with faulty parts, we're dealing with low quality workmanship. Not only have they been unable to resolve this issue during that year, we also had the pleasure of needing our ceiling repaired when one of their careless technicians didn't watch where he stepped while in the attic and ended up stepping thru our ceiling. They insist they are right without concern of the needs of the customer. For example, they contend that it's "normal" and "within spec" that our A/C is set to 76 degrees and some rooms in our house read over 80 degrees and others read 74 degrees. I didn't go to HVAC school but I don't think it takes a graduate to determine there is clearly a duct issue that Mills Air hasn't been able to resolve in over a year with multiple visits. Needless to say, there are much better companies out there. Do yourself a favor and skip dealing with this one.

Yelp
At the time I called them, I had no idea the problem with my AC but, the thermostat was not functioning properly. They came and could have charged me for a new thermostat but, the service guy said that my drain line was backed up and promptly fixed it. Based on their honesty, I hired them for the annual service. I will update based on the experience.

Yelp
I scheduled a service call with Mills. The technicians never showed up. I called the company to ask what was going on and the service rep told me they had to postpone the service and wanted me to reschedule. I took the day off of work for this. I will not be contacting this company again. A curtesy call would have been nice.

Yelp
I purchased a new home from the builder and my ac unit came pre installed by this company. In the last 2 years, I have had them out to my home for a number of times. They came out recently for a routine maintenance. The same night my system kept shutting down, so I poured vinegar and water down the pipe to remove any build up of gunk. This did not work so I had to outside after midnight to connect a wet vacuum to the outside to remove the clog build up. The tech that came out kept trying to sell me on a uv light that is very costly and also wanted me to give him a great review. I called the office, the next morning to voice my concerns, to a manager and was told that they would look into it and call me back. 10 minutes later I get a call from another person telling me that they are refunding me back the money for the maintenance and that I may want to try another company. They said that looked at my file and they cant make me happy, so I would have to take my business elsewhere. I said that I wasn't looking for another company. All I wanted was my system to work properly and give me the service that I paid for. They told me they would have to see if they could still do business with me and also discuss it with the owner of the company. This is the first time I have been denied business from a company. Apparently, they don't need my business. So sad cause I was really looking to get the uv light soon and they would have had a customer for life.

Yelp
Mills sent a great representative to come and check on our air conditioning units. REp was very professional and thorough. If you ever need anyone to check your A/C, I recommend MIlls air

Yelp
I'm only giving them a 2 star because it was a rip off. They came out for $84, then charged me $75 for a leak test, then $40 for a pound of 410A coolant. The unit was installed by them 26 months ago and the "coolant" warranty expires in 24 months. There was, obviously, a small leak that has been slowly releasing the coolant for some time now. So it must be an installation issue. They couldn't detect any leaks with the leak test that they charged me for. So the tech just put more coolant in. He told me hopefully the leak gets larger next time so the leak detector would pick it up. $40 per pound on 410A is a joke, too. They buy 20 pound bottles of this stuff for around $100.

Yelp
Mills Air customer service was professional all the way from the secretary to their technician. Getting an appointment was easy and the staff was friendly. The technician was very knowledgeable and made all the necessary repairs, without trying to up sell me. He took the time to explain my new thermostat and showed me exactly what the issue was and what he did to fix it. My house is cooling faster and more efficiently than ever before. When all was said and done, the price was more than reasonable. I have used them in the past, and I will definitely use them in the future. Overall, another great experience, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I had Mills Air come to my home the end of September. I told the tech that it was making a weird noise and it sounded like it trying to shut off and on. He opened up the cover of the unit and told me that my belts were getting old and that was all because the air was still working at the time. He NEVER walked around the house to see my outside unit. He instead began to tell me about his life in the air conditioning business. Then he left. I called back 2 months later and spoke to someone that my unit just stopped working. I explained that the original tech never helped me. I never received a call back. I went the whole winter without heat. Thankfully on the very first hot day, I called a ANOTHER COMPANY to look at the unit for me. Come to find out the motor blew! And I had a 10 year warranty on it! Mills air never even tested the motor or even gave that a consideration. I will never recommend this company to anyone and will certainly share my experience so that no one has to deal with what I had to deal with. Shame on you Mills Air!

We moved into the home in September of 2020. We bought a new house for peace of mind so we did not have to worry about the AC and appliances. We never dreamed we would experience such an abysmal state of affairs over the course of the last three years from Mills Air. Our upstairs AC unit has repeatedly stopped working. We have had Mills Air out on warranty calls some 13-15 times. Every single person who has come out was friendly enough but they all diagnosed the unit has having something completely different wrong with the system. Several times the technician said "This is a mess. This has been wired completely wrong." I would tell them well the last person said that too and they moved things around. That happened at least three times. One of the worst things after they had come like 12 times, I had noticed that the units were the wrong size. I ASKED them why was the smaller unit upstairs when heat rises and there was far more square footage and they were like oh...well we installed it wrong. We are going to have to rip out both outside units and both inside units and swap them. In the process, they burned the carpet near the air handler and never replaced it. I have told them there is NO airflow to half the rooms upstairs every time they came. I told every technician there is probably ductwork issues. They stood on a ladder without ever going in the attic with a flashlight. What are they going to see from there? Our electric bill is 450-600$ a month in the summer and the unit constantly runs. It has never been comfortable in our house and we work at home. The AC is broken again since Friday morning. I was told they would call me Friday afternoon and they did not. They never consulted us on a time and we were out all day Saturday. So when we were out they sent a text saying they were coming. We were not available. I waited on their call and here we are Monday and it's still blazing hot in my house. This company is unbelievable . Edit: They finally sent someone out and he diagnosed yet another new issue. The lead technician could not believe the history and how many times people had come out. He told us that he would call it in and that it was a lemon and should be covered and replaced. He even mentioned that they would work with Lennox to get a replacement system since it’s been a lemon. Now, have now been living and working in the heat of the hot Florida Summer for 12 days. They called me about a week ago to go over an “estimate.” I told them They said they would take care of it and she said she would speak to her manager and call me right back. She never did. A week later I call to ask about it and they say they have not ordered the part yet and nothing will be covered. Their company lies about things just to tell you what you want to hear in the moment. Their communication has been p*** poor and all of their technicians have been incompetent. Too many times someone came and had to correct the previous person. Do not use this company, you will regret it.

Talk about fantastic!! We had a problem with our air conditioner last week and called Mills. The tech came within 18 hours and our system was up and running. Unfortunately this week, we needed the heat and when we turned it on, it did not work. We called Mills again (FYI, that office staff was PROFESSIONAL!). at 9:00 am this morning and the office staff scheduled a meeting for today(!) between 11:00 and 2:00. 10:00, the tech called and said they would be there before 11:00 and arrived by 10:50. Leon J. is a ROCK star! He started the diagnostics on the system and it took almost most 3 hours to do what he did. Put in a new thermostat, fixed the old wiring by rewiring the wires from the handler to the new thermostat (He found that a wire had broken that let the AC work but not heat pump). While the unit was recycling, Leon went back and checked the system from one end to the other to make sure no other issues, including coolant levels. At the end of the day, Leon spent over three hours (!) and never stopped the entire time. As what has happened in the past with other AC people, I was expecting a decent sized bill. To my surprise there was not charge!! Not for service charge, not for parts, not for labor and not for coolant levels! (BTW, those charges are straight off my previous AC companies invoice). MILLS is the way to go and Leon is THE MAN!

Mills Air was my favorite HVAC company, however it seems like a lot of things have changed within the company recently. Mills Air is unprofessional, doesn't value your time and are unresponsive. I missed 2 days of work because they kept messing up on my appointment and that's not including an appointment from 7pm-4am where I called as they assured me someone would show up (they did not). The next day they canceled my appointment. I had to call in and talk to Leslie their service appointment person to find out they canceled it. The day after they rescheduled and pushed my appointment later, I missed 2 days of work for this. There was no apology from Leslie, she was simply combative and argumentative. No call from a manager and inevitably they charged me about $220 for 10 mins of work and a $30 capacitor part, on an AC that's only 2 years old. That last part would almost be fine if their tech would have fixed everything, but he decided not to do anymore diagnostic and my AC is still not cooling like it did before. There are other companies out there that value their clients, Mills Air is no longer one of them. **************My Original Post**************** Dan, exceeded our expectations. He was thorough, cared about the quality of his work and took time to explain and hear our concerns. Mills Air is one of the few companies my builder picked that I will continue to do business with after our warranty period and Dan is the reason why. Thank you.
