SAL & AL Air Conditioning

They've been doing my mother's condominium for a long time.  He is very reliable, fair, not expensive but not cheap either; fair and someone that I can leave the key and he'll come into the condo; somebody I can really trust that he's not going to sneak into drawers and stuff like that.   He's been doing air conditioning since the late 70's, early 80's.  Very reliable.  The AC kept getting off and we found out it was the breaker, and so we had to get my son, who does some electricity.  He changed the box for the breaker.  He came over and told us it was the breaker but he didn't do that because he was not an electrician.  He's an AC guy and in Houston you have to have either one or the other.  He didn't want to get in trouble.   So my son went and changed the box and we have had no problem since then.  Now, the AC guy that I've used that is 70 years old, this guy was apprenticed, so my mother used the apprentice for a long time and I used the teacher, and the teacher is about to retire and I'm going to use the apprentice.  My mother uses him twice a year; she's about to use him for the Spring clean-up, and she uses him in the Fall to prevent any problems with the AC.  I'm sure his price is fair; it's not cheap and it's not high.  I told him to send me the invoice in the mail.  He keeps texting and I have a flip phone and I can't see the invoice and I owe him money, and how am I going to pay if he doesn't send me the invoice? That's the only problem.  We have had problems where the AC went out right in the middle of maybe the Summer, and I called Mario (Sal & Al) and I said oh, I know Mario you're not going to be able to come in today, but please, please, pretty please when can you come, and he'll be there the next afternoon.  And you know when he's very, very busy, that's a plus for me.  For price, I want to say "B" because I have not compared it.  They charged my mother $65 for check-up in the Spring time and in the Fall; and I know that's $15 more than the other guys, but I will pay $15 and not be told that the cable came off and it's going to cost me $100 to replace it.

They are up front and honest.  They do a good job. They answer their phones and come out when you need them.

My old furnace broke down on New Year's Eve weekend. Sal's team was at my house the next business day. They worked quickly and cleaned up everything. Everyone was very professional and nice.

I recently had my old and broken down cooling system replaced by Sal Zito Heating & Cooling LLC for a new quality Trane System. As I was awaiting my turn for the install during the hot month of July, the office manager was kind and caring enough to arrange a free of charge™ service call in order to attempt to get the old unit running. The installers came promptly on time for the scheduled install date. Two teams of installers were dispatched to remove and install the new A/C units – one team to replace the air handler device in the attic space and the other team was assigned to replacing the air compressor located on the side of the house. Heavy drop cloths were spread out over the work areas inside the house where the air handler was located. The installers were very polite and kept me up to date on the developments and progress of the installation and eventual testing. They even went out their way to install a complimentary lighting with switch in my attic space. Meticulous care was taken in removing the units from the premises. After the successful testing took place, the project supervisor remained to do a thorough clean-up inside around the hallway and also outside around the compressor. This was a truly rewarding and quality experience with courteous professionalism demonstrated throughout the entire project. I would highly recommend the services of Sal Zito Heating & Cooling LLC to any customer considering installing a new cooling unit. I hired Sal based on the other reviews on HomeAdvisor to replace a 26 year old Central A/C unit. Sal and Marci worked with me to find the right unit (I had some specific requirements around power draw, etc.) took care of the paperwork, and scheduled the install. The installation was clean and neat, the old equipment taken away and disposed of properly, and in general, a great job overall. Would definitely recommend.

Sal Zito Heating & Cooling installed a new central air conditioner for me this week and I have to say it is probably the best contractor experience I have had in the last 15 years. His support team in the office (Marci) and the two service techs that did the actual installation (Paulo & Mike) are outstanding. Sal and Marci were very professional, and truly managed the instal from start to finish. Paulo and Mike were knowledgeable, friendly, thorough, very neat, and I ended up with the cleanest looking installation I have ever seen. I am delighted with the Trane XR-16 central system they recommended and installed. I think that Trane is the best central air system available and Sal's pricing was lower than most lower quality units. I could not believe all of the 5 star rating I saw on Sal during my search, but I do now. He's that good!

I was very apprehensive about hiring a company that I could trust to replace my central air conditioning system. I am so thankful that a friend mentioned Sal Zito Cooling. Sal responded quickly and I had a fair estimate within days. He and all of his staff were very professional and helpful throughout the process, answered all of my questions and eased any concerns that I had. Sal Zito was the best company I have ever had work for me in the 24 years I have lived in my house. I have a 3 zone air conditioning system and the largest zone needed to be replaced. I had 6 estimates done for the job. Sal Zito was the least expensive for the best product. His workers were the most professional, conscientious, neat, and friendly that have ever worked in my house. Very professional and neat installation. Installers were very neat and considerate. I had a difficult installation and they were able to route ducts in my 100 year old house. I plan on having them come back for an install in another part of the house. Wouldn't hire anyone else.

Before I hired Sal, I had several AC install estimates and was told the job may be difficult based on several building logistical factors. Not only did Sal trouble shoot the whole issue with my AC install, his estimate was the most reasonable and the work was done in the most efficient and timely fashion. Sal arrived on time and got the job done in the most professional way. Sal and his co-worker completed the job within a few hours and I am very pleased with how the unit is operating. No need to go with anyone but Sal!!

Sal and his men came on time, removed the old compressor and evaporator, and installed the replacements within one day, when everyone else was telling us "two days." Sal easily did it in one, with no drama. He pointed out that the old electrical service wasn't sized appropriately and replaced it at a very reasonable price.
