I would like to share my appreciation for the excellent service provided by Mr. Chris from Reliance who visited my home yesterday to resolve a power issue in my living room. The previous night we experienced a power failure in the living room, and I was quite concerned about what might be causing the problem. Mr. Chris arrived promptly and was extremely professional, courteous, and friendly. What impressed me most was his efficiency and expertise. He carefully checked the electrical system, quickly identified the root cause of the issue, and within minutes he was able to restore the power. It was clear that he is very knowledgeable and experienced in his work. His calm approach, attention to detail, and willingness to explain the issue gave me a lot of confidence. I truly appreciate the excellent service and professionalism demonstrated by Mr. Chris. Thank you for the outstanding support. I highly recommend his service to anyone who needs reliable and efficient electrical work.

Technician Ron – 5/5 Stars I purchased my home with a rental hot water tank. I’ve never been a huge fan of the monthly fees, but this week we had an issue where we couldn’t get hot water throughout the house. I was actually interested to see how the process would go since I’m paying for this service. I called Reliance at 3:00 PM and they were able to send a technician the next day at 10:30 AM. We were without hot water for less than 24 hours, which was appreciated. The technician, Ron, was truly great. He made all the difference — he educated me on what was wrong and helped partially fix the issue so we could get by for now. Ironically, the issue turned out to be the mixing valve that was installed when the hot water tank was originally put in, before I even owned the home. Since the problem was with the mixing valve and not the tank itself, I was told I would have to pay out of pocket to have it fixed. The quote was significantly higher than my go-to plumber — for a $100 part from my plumber, Reliance wanted to charge $600 for parts and labour. Because of that, I’ll likely have my own plumber handle the repair for a fraction of the price, or possibly do it myself. I’m thankful for the response time and very thankful for Ron — he’s an excellent technician. That said, it’s frustrating to pay a monthly fee for a service that couldn’t fully fix the problem the same day and then be charged a premium to repair a part that Reliance originally installed. This is especially frustrating considering I never chose this rental — it came with the home I purchased. Being without hot water is tough, especially with young kids. I’m grateful we found a temporary fix for now. I would give more stars overall if the service was faster, the call centre was easier to understand, and the faulty part was covered. Thank you for sending such a great employee, but the overall level of service needs improvement. Charging an extra $600 could easily cost you a customer, especially when we already pay $30 per month for this service.

We had a new Relliance water heater installed a couple of months ago. My daughter recently noticed that the hot water had a certain odour so we called for a checkup. Johan came the same day and figured out that an adjustment was needed and a disinfecting done to be sure. He ordered a new connector and it will be fixed very soon. Johan was very knowledgeable, polite and thoughtful in his work. Thank you Relliance for being here so quickly. The decision to rent was the very best choice for us.👍👍

Scheduling the repair was quick and easy through the website. I was able to have someone over the next day to look at the water heater. The Technician assigned (Johann) was great! Him and his partner were very professional. They called to let me know when they were coming and were great at communicating the issue at hand. Their service was excellent and I would highly recommend it.

I had a great experience today. Dwayne did a wonderful job, he replaced my filter, did all the checks and made several repairs as well. He was very nice and patiently answered all my questions. He was efficient, polite, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend Reliance for all your all your needs.

Everything was easy. My furnace was dying in the middle of winter and they had a new one in place within 3 days. Talking with Sam to figure out what furnace to go with was easy. He walked me through the available options and it was obvious that he was very knowledgable. Omar and Abdul did a great job on the install of a furnace, water heater, and humidifier. The area was cleaned after the removal of the old equipment and tidied after the installation of the new equipment. They also added new water line off-valves above the water heater, so we could still use the water for the kids while the install was ongoing. All in all, I'm very happy with the process, and the people were great. 10/10

The worst customer service I’ve ever had. Husband took time off work and they didn’t even show up to the first appointment we had this week. Came today, two days after initial appointment to installed our new hot water tank. New one they installed doesn’t work so now I’m left without hot water. They knew the tank wasn’t working before they left. Instead of trying to fix the problem right away I have to wait another 24 hours before getting hot water. Attached are pictures of the new not working tank they installed today. Update: Friday 5 o’clock still don’t have hot water

My furnace quit about 1 am I called the 1800 number for Reliance and spoke to a lovely lady who told me she would have someone at my house as soon as possible,they came about 8 am and quickly let me know that my furnace was done. Adam , the young man who came to fix my furnace had Sam the sales person, on the phone who said he would be at my home in a matter of minutes, he came in and he had set up someone to pick up my new furnace and they fit me in about 3pm. Three hours later Omar and his partner had installed my new furnace and had it up and running, now remember,my furnace had been down since the night before so when this all started to happen it was about 13 degrees in my home, not nice very cold and my cat although has a thick coat did not like it either. I can’t say enough good things about all the people I had met in the last 24 hours but, I must say I will be forever in their dept. from the lady on the call to start everything rolling right down to the installer who said I could contact him at anytime if I was concerned about anything hats off to Reliance for good people. We had our water tank replaced on November 25th because it was leaking. Reliance Holmes, was quick to accommodate us when we called and sent Sam one of their technicians, to handle the job. Sam was fantastic, he immediately identified the source of the leak and explained everything clearly. He was friendly, patient, and clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Since the tank was quite heavy, his colleague Logan came to assist. Both of them were very professional, worked carefully, and left no damage to the floor. Had my furnace serviced by Saleem Akeela recently. He performed the service and did a thorough check. We were have an intermittent code throwing on the unit so he explained what could be causing it. Very knowledgeable. Even better, I haven't seen the code again since and it used to happen daily. I hope to see him again next year.

We had our water tank repaired today because it was leaking since yesterday. The company, Reliance was fast to accommodate us when we called early this morning. They sent Logan, one of their technicians to do the job. Logan is fantastic! He immediately pinpointed the problem, where the leak is coming from. You can tell that Logan loves his work from the way he works excitedly, and he is knowledgeable and equipped to do the job he was assigned to do. He is a very friendly person too.

A quick note of special thanks to Gregg (Reliance Subject Matter Expert) in Ottawa, and also to recognize the excellent customer service we have received from Reliance over the years. Most recently, there was an important, cumulative billing issue that was detected, and this required a more thorough review to account for ongoing extra charges. Gregg and his team, including senior leadership, completed the review in record time, provided a summary of findings, and also included a refund for the extra charges. In conclusion, the team at Reliance not only demonstrated fairness in their review and management of the billing issue, they recognized the billing error, provided regular updates, and were most courteous in the entire review process. This is a true example of excellent and proper customer service, courtesy, and honesty. Kudos to Gregg and the entire team at Reliance.

I recently had a visit from Zach Grantham who came to replace my furnace filter and do a quick maintenance check. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. It is winter and my furnace stopped working, worst time for that to happen. Dustin and his coworkers were here the next day and did an amazing job, were really clean, fixed a few things I didn't ask (didnt know could be fixed) and Dustin also got the time to give me a lesson about how everything works, how to improve the air quality, how to use the machines properly. It was an excellent experience with Reliance. Thank you!

*** AVOID AT ALL COSTS *** Reliance Home Comfort is a predatory company that will lock you in with never ending monthly costs to "rent" your own furnace, AC and water heater. Imagine renting your windows and doors in your own home. If you try to buy out the appliance, they quote an insanely high price with extra exit fees. When pressed for how they calculate their "reasonable, fair market" buyout price, they say its calculated on a 16-year life expectancy. No information on the original installation and equipment price as the rep quoted "There was no original purchase contract". This makes no sense whatsoever. I have contact several sales "reps" who are unable to provide details on how they calculate their buy out costs. The terms and conditions for the "10 year RWH rental" stipulate the rental purchase price "will be equal to the depreciated fair market retail value of the water heater as at the date you buy the water heater (as determined by us on a straight-line basis in accordance with Canadian generally accepted accounting principles". In order to calculate straight-line depreciation you need the asset's cost, estimated salvage value and useful life. The several representatives have only provided an arbitrary service life of "16 years" for the hot water tank. Although this is a reasonable life expectancy for a gas hot water tank, with only 1 out 3 values, you cannot calculate a reasonable buy-out price. Reliance Home Comfort relies on predatory business practices to entrap home buyers to unfavourable conditions, ever increasing monthly "rent" fees for their heating/cooling appliances and hot water tanks, and then request an exorbitant amount of money for termination "fees" in addition to the ridiculous buy out cost. As a rented fixture, home buyers should be aware of a Notice of Security Interest that can allow Reliance Home Comfort to register a lien on the title and charge insane fees to discharge. They should change their business name to Reliance Forever Rental Scammers.

Our furnace died on Friday Morning after 23 years. Friday afternoon Jason took us through the options and details for a new furnace and AC. Saturday morning Dustin, Ben, Christian and Yourri made it happen. They explained what was to be done from start to finish and after completing the install walked us through the new system, components and their operation. The crew left the house and work area spotless upon completing the installation. Fantastic service from start to finish. Could not asked for better outcome or more professional service. Josh from Reliance came to my place today, and I’m very satisfied with his service. He arrived on time and even wore shoe covers, which I really appreciated. He removed the bathtub panel, checked the shower booth and toilet area, cleaned everything, and carefully re-sealed all the joints. He explained that if the leak comes back in 2–3 days, the next step would be opening the ceiling to inspect the pipes, which would cost extra. Instead of charging right away, he tried everything he could first at no cost. His detailed work and genuine care for the customer really stood out. Highly recommended!

Technician turned up on schedule. Checked out the furnace and changed the filter and the humidifier filter. Work was done quickly and he briefed us before leaving. Discussed our water heater and we will look at it again sometime this summer.
