If I could give 0 star I would. Of course like others I fell for their scam. My two latest bills were tremendous, charged more kw/h than I was supposed to get based in the contract and also I wasn’t even home. Don’t sign up with these scammers.

THEY DO NOT CARE and will take advantage now 3 months of $400 bill will just stay like that because i wont pay them.

Not really the type to make bad reviews but was looking at the other reviews and had to say something. Was at sam’s club in deptford with my friend and we were approached and stopped by these two guys. At first they said “did u guys receive one of these from a lady up front?” while holding a card. We said no and were kinda confused. He then said he was giving away free gift cards. The card he was holding up was blue and shiny with designs on it. Not sure if it was a sam’s club gift card or just a fake card to get our attention. I then say no thank you and tried walking away and he kept on persisting i take the gift card. I tried laughing it off and he just kept saying things to try and make me want to the “gift card”. I still respectfully declined and moved on with my shopping. This guy did not introduce himself or say anything about his company or have any type of work shirt on or anything. I automatically assumed it was a scam and was honestly kind of scared for my safety being a young 20 year old girl it genuinely freaked me out. I only figured out they were with this company when i saw there tiny stand feet away from where they actually were. I then asked a worker about it and he said there was a company trying to sell things to people, but there is no one “up front” suppose to be giving things to people when they come in and even agreed the guy was sketchy and was glad we didn’t take his fake gift card. The whole interaction just freaked me out and if ur a company trying to make sales, do not approach young girls and try as hard as u can to ask them if they want a free gift card. Especially knowing all the scams and trafficking that’s been happening in deptford recently it was so weird you can’t trust anyone now and days.

A representative from NRG approached me and asked to simply see my PSEG bill, saying I would receive a Walmart gift card in return. At no point did he mention that he was signing me up for NRG’s electricity service — let alone that it would increase my energy rates significantly. This is a textbook example of slamming — switching a customer’s utility provider without clear consent or full disclosure. I never agreed to switch providers. This kind of deceptive behavior is unacceptable and predatory. I urge others to be extremely cautious when approached by NRG representatives.

Absolutely garbage sales reps, we were in Walmart and they stoped us. They went on their whole spiel on why we should use them to lower our electric bill. They were talking to my husband and he told them that the bill was in my name and they said “then why are you even here”. Full blow ignorant. I own my own business and if one of my sales reps acted like that then they would be fired immediately. I understand that they are a business and they are trying to make money but by treating their potential customers like this then they deserve to go under.

They have young, uniformed people in Walmart conning people into thinking they aren’t changing their energy supplier, but indeed they are. I was caught off guard & was given a $15 dollar Walmart gift card for “switching” (I asked specifically if it was changing my energy supplier & he said “no, we just are giving back if you are a JCP&L customer; we work with them” blah blah blah)… Once I realized what was done, I immediately unenrolled bc their costs are higher than my current energy supplier. At least I got to use the $15 dollar Walmart gift card tho. Don’t fall for it bc, eventually, your electric bill will more than double over time! Stuff like this should be illegal, but I guess (in the moment) I was dumb enough to fall for it. Thank god I read thru the terms & quickly realized what I did & fixed the situation quickly.

Was added to my PSEG account without my knowledge. They ended up ripping me off for about $1,000 in 3rd party charges until I realized what was happening and got PSEG to remove them from my account.

NRG is a highly unethical company. They have a team of salesmen who are trained to go door to door and harass people, especially older vulnerable people. Their salesmen are trained on a script (easy to recognize because all their salesmen have the same talking points) that encourages them to lie and mislead people. They will drop recognizable names, e.g. Walmart/General Electric/any major local energy company, to make people think they're associated with them and give themselves credibility. They will also mention having sent 'urgent letters' regarding people's energy supplier to cause a sense of panic. For anyone they manage to persuade, they will also lie and mislead about prices but it is all lies. Any price promos will quickly disappear and prices are likely to be far higher than the supplier the people were originally using. This is a company that uses the same tactics as 419 scammers and MLM salesmen. Do not trust these people under any circumstances.

SCAM ALERT! I was stopped by a guy in walmart(my first mistake) I was told it’ll be cheaper which it was for the first 2-3 months. Before using them, for 2 people electric ran me about $175 max after getting with NRG after there 2 months of low rates it jumped to $395 a month. Then I was told it’ll take 30 days to remove them! Save yourself from this scam!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Someone used fake email and phone numbers to switch my spouses electric bill over to this crap. Every time we call it’s another run around. We want a copy of ALL signed documents that we signed up so we can get to the bottom of who created this scam.

Best decision of my life switching over! My electric bill has never been so low. Customer service is also amazing. Spoke to Lindsey who was extremely nice, helpful and patient. Probably the best customer service I have ever experienced.
