If I could give Cambridge -5 stars I would. The Tech Support, or should I say, lack thereof, is a joke. They say during busy months they will get back to you in 48 hours. I’ve been waiting a week and nothing, despite calls and emails.. You can’t even get through to a live person. Company is an absolute joke and I would never put another one of their products on any of my jobs.

One of the worst companies I’ve dealt with in 10 years of hvac. It took multiple emails and calls over 5 weeks and still couldn’t get anything resolved. Would never get back to you and kept sending out the wrong parts. And I kept getting emails saying my case has been resolved. Had to go to a generic vendor to get my problem solved.

Originally I had some trouble making contact with Cambridge, but I believe it was due to the holidays and company closures. When I did hear back from Cambridge, they were a great help and gave me good advice and direction in order to solve our problem.

We have waiting for days to hear back for a tech support question. Cambridge never returned our call or emails.

Cambridge technical and customer support have always treated me well. Though they don’t pick up on the first call, they always call back and have an answer/resolution. Products work just as well as any other reputable manufacturer…

Bought parts on 1/16/2024. Bought next day air for shipping. Got charged $65. Parts didn't arrive 1/17. 1/17 I emailed customer service. 1/18 they said the part hasn't shipped shipped yet. 1/18 I said why not? Since I bought next day air. 1/18 they said their website wasn't working correctly and they didn't notice I bought next day air. That they would waive the $65 next day shipping and send out my parts 1/19. 1/22 I emailed asking for tracking info for my parts. That the parts had still not arrived. 1/22 they emailed that my parts have not shipped yet. I called customer service. Got transferred to 3 different people. Gerald, Jim, and Dan. Gerald went to voicemail. I didn't want a voicemail. Dan didn't even ring. Says he's unavailable. Straight to voicemail. Jim went to voicemail. A voicemail that says today is 12/22/2023 and he would be off for the day. Decided to go back to Gerald since his seemed the most promising because it actually rang and also doesn't have a voicemail message that is December of 2023. I just want my parts to ship!

Horrible service, spent hours on hold or waiting for someone from parts and someone from tech support, I guess my money isn’t green enough for you to take my call and allow me to spend money with your company.

Mike Casey was great! Very knowledgeable.

The tech team was great in helping me diagnose the issue with our direct fire heater. They provided me with the parts I needed, and how to replace them. We are back up and running with no issues.

Cambridge installed a mini split heat pump system for my home. The initial install went okay, but they did not cover the floors, fully clean up, and one guy used my tools without asking. This winter, we have 2 problematic rooms using ducted mini split. When outside temps were in the teens, the ducted mini splits heated to 60 degrees, unable to reach the set point of 72. With outdoor temps of 30's, the room temp is 4-6 degrees under 72. They sent 2 techs to troubleshoot the thermostat. It initially read 68. After they tinkered with it, it displayed 74. My other room went from 54 to 59. They said they had to go into the advanced settings to make it warmer. Great, as long as it works. I looked into the manual after and found a setting called Indoor Temperature Display Offset which allows you to add or subtract 5 from the room temperature display. I checked the setting and turns out the techs just changed this setting to make it seem like the room was warmer than it actually was by adding 5 to the display. Shady work. I eventually got Dave and Tom on the phone. They were defensive and tried to discredit my concerns. Tom said it is normal for a 5 degree difference. I called Mitsubishi and they told me that was a lie. About the room temp offset, Dave aggressively said it is impossible (it's in the manual), and illegal to do that, and that all the techs did was resync it. Then why was the offset at +5? I did a resync myself to see if that changes the offset to +5 - it doesn't. Dave asked me about room insulation and air sealing - which I then asked if isn't all of that considered when sizing the system? Dave got really offended and proceeded to condescendingly lectured me about how he does a manual J calc for every project. I'm just a home owner trying to understand why his room isn't being heated well - why is that unacceptable to ask? I asked Dave what my options are. His response: Turn up the thermostat (hah). In the end, they said they would send a tech out. Weeks later and no attempts to fix this issue. So much for that 1 year warranty. Mitsubishi recommended to get a different guy to come as they had doubts about the installation. And wow were they right. The ducted units had amateurish duct work - full of inefficient bends, creating a high external static system that restricts air flow - the main reason why the rooms weren't heating well. They are supposed to operate in low static pressure, and the new contractor said it should look more like this - [*** Link removed ***] Night and day comparison to the way Cambridge installed my units (see attached images). He had major concerns for one outdoor unit on the NW side. It was low to the ground and snow and ice can affect it. There was no wind guard on it, and the winds usually come from the NW, which can trigger more defrost cycle. Boy was he right... Yesterday (20 degrees, snowy, windy), there was ice on the lower coils for most of the day. The condensers were in defrost cycles every 15 minutes of run time, for 10 minutes at a time! During those times, there is no heat being generated. My home was at 62 degrees the entire day with the fireplace in use! I even asked Dave during the install if snow would be an issue and he said to just shovel it. What a tremendous understatement that was! Thanks Cambridge - for taking tens of thousands of dollars just to heat my home to sub 60. I don't expect or demand any resolution from Cambridge, and am cutting ties with them completely (I doubt they would even come at this point anyways). I've lost complete trust in them. What I should have done was just pay slightly more for a more competent company that actually understands the intricacies of properly heating a home. If you're trying to use these heat pumps as your main heat source, I suggest you do the same. But if you're just getting mini splits for cooling or supplemental heat, I think you can get by with their workmanship if you really wanted to.

David and is crew were very knowledgeable and professional Installing the 2 1/2 ton unit, split unit. They had the unit installed and operating with in 6 hours. Explained the operation of the two thermostats, cleaned and took the garbage with them. Tom in office made sure of the appointment and took care of the paper work for guarantee and rebate. I received three proposals and Cambridge was the best

Professional, courteous, punctual service. I couldn't be happier with the results. They provided an electrician to complete the work due to the fact I needed to upgrade my panel. House is cool and comfortable and the outside looks great. Very clean look no messy wires. Excellent job.

Cambridge was one of four companies we contacted for estimates and and could not have been more pleased with the outcome. Even though we began this project deep into and quot;the season, and quot; we were able to get an estimate within two days and the installation completed within two weeks. The cost of these systems is crazy, but the price Cambridge quoted (which was neither the lowest nor highest) included Mitsubishi machines (which we wanted). No one else we contacted was able to match Cambridge's quote for the Mitsubishis. As well, they are authorized by Mitsubishi and their installers received installation and service training.
I was concerned about the and quot;look of the final product - so many I have seen have so many ducts running in so many directions that the house appears as a refinery. I needn't have worried. Our installers (Nick, Jeff, and Charlie) were artists. During installation, whenever more than one option presented itself, we were always included in the decision. The efficiency of their work was impressive, utilizing the absolute minimal amount of ducting. The result was a single line looking like no more than a drain pipe, and although this required that the drilled holes on three floors be aligned such that the final run was perfectly vertical, the crew accomplished that feat (I know it's crazy, but if the line was noticeably tilting, I would never have been pleased).
Ours is an older house filled with surprises whenever work is done on it. This job was no different but, no matter what problem arose, the installers had the perfect fix. These guys knew their business. They arrived promptly each day (the install took nearly 4 days, a bit longer than they anticipated, I think), wasted no time, and although they worked in every room of the house, you really would never have known they were there. They cleaned inside and out at the end of each day (embarrassingly) doing a better job than we do.
If I am no longer choking on the thought of what I just spent for air conditioning, The guys at Cambridge are largely responsible. They are as professional a company as any I have done business with. The quality of their work is excellent and their people wonderful. As for the air conditioning, it is absolutely fantastic.
