Purchased a new Sentinel HD55 for our basement. Advertised as 1300 sqft and Energy Star. Was manufactured in 2020, did not dehumidify 1000 sqft, and learned later was not certified Energy Star (false advertising). AlorAir did replace with Sentinel HD55S. However, faulty unit flagging errors (poor quality). Also, purchased a new Sentinel Pro 55X for upstairs. Ran good for a few months, but the water pump failed and the automatic shutoff failed (TWO defects!). Gallons of water leaked out of the unit onto the floor and through the drywall ceiling. $2700 of repair costs to professionally dry out our home and repair the hole in the ceiling that AlorAir only provided $100 (a drop in the bucket of our damage!). We assumed that these higher priced dehumidifiers compared to their competitors, that you get a better product with a 5 year warranty...but it was the extremely the opposite! Their website states "U.S. Brand, U.S. Company." The dehumidifiers were built in China and only shipped from a warehouse in the U.S. There are only 3 managers based in the U.S., with all other leadership in China. So, their U.S. managers have no say in how they run their business. Check out AlorAir on the Better Business Bureau (BBB). They are NOT accredited and have an F-Rating! Do your homework better than we did before you purchase! DO NOT BUY ANY ALORAIR PRODUCTS!

Purchased an Storm LGR Extreme in Jul 2023 for my crawlspace. Had some issues with the Alorair R app from Oct 2023 to Jan 2024. After contacting customer service several times, the issues were resolved. Unfortunately, on 7 Sep 2025, my Alorair R app wouldn't let me login to my account. I contacted customer service and after several emails, I was told that my unit is not supported by the new app. Alorair offered me 10% off another dehumidifier on their website. I spent over 800.00 for my dehumidifier in Jul 2023 and it has no issues beside it not connecting to the app. Guess alorair thinks people have 800.00 to 1000.00 sitting around to buy another dehumidifier from them. Sorry, I will take my business to a company which cares about their customers.

Alorair updated their app version and thus made my 4 year old dehumidifier obsolete. After an hour with an online service rep, they told me that it is unfixable. This was not a mechanical failure (which is understandable) but an intentional human failure and an egregious business ethical practice. I and many other customers were not given any notice. I now have an unsafe dehumidifier that I am blind to. Stay away from this crooked business and take your business to an honest company. Shame on you Alorair!

I have the Alorair Storm LG Extreme. The dehumidifier runs well, but I bought it without WIFI (used to remotely check status and adjust, instead of having to every time crawl under my house in crawlspace), so Alorair support steers me to a $100 replacement control panel with WIFI. It worked great with WIFI for 5.5 months, then out of the blue WIFI no longer works 1/6/25. I emailed support for warranty replacement and we will see if they respond or replace the panel. I will update this post and adjust my rating based on how this plays out. UPDATE from Alorair support: "The app is currently unavailable as our team works on a long-term solution to address ongoing issues and implement user-suggested features. While there are occasional periods when the app may not function properly, it typically becomes operational again within 24–48 business hours." While I appreciate the timely update on this issue, I have tried once a week over the last 5 weeks to get this to work, so...we'll see how this plays out. I added a star because of the quick response back and honesty of the issue. I still don't understand why my unit won't go into WIFI mode at the machine level. If what they say is true, there have to be MANY MANY users like me in the same non functioning WIFI boat.

Received our Sentinel HDi65S through Amazon. Very happy so far. Arrived timely and in good shape. Out of the box, setup is easy. Using the pump feature, and it seems to be working well. Running 24/7 in basement and pulling a lot of moisture out of the air. Opted for the Merv 8 filters, and they slip in nicely. Best part is the WIFI setup and control so we always know what's happing. Thinking about getting a second unit for sump pump room.

I purchased one of their very expensive dehumidifiers for my Crawlspace last year and have had nothing but problems out of it. After replacing the control board and humidity sensor, it continues to malfunction. It has also flooded my Crawlspace 3 times due to the pump not coming back on after power outages. They refuse to honor their warranty because I didn’t buy my brand new unit directly from them.

Ordered a foundation vent fan twice. Never received either. Customer Service (a joke) wanted me to question my neighbors to track package. Cost me $$$ for a canceled job. 10 BBB complaints on website. DO NOT USE THIS "COMPANY" !!!

Ordered a an Alorair HDi65S from Walmart and it did not function properly. The humidity level never got below 61%. They also have an app specifically for this device (they use different apps for different products) that did not work at all. Expect better from a $700+ product. It was successfully returned to Walmart.

Purchased a Alorair Commercial Grade Dehumidifier first time out my guys broke off the stem for the water to drain called customer service the lady was very helpful and nice. She E-mailed me the information to the website were i can purchase parts. I ordered and now just waiting on delivery. Very Good Customer Service

So one year into my use of an Alorair Storm LGR Extreme dehumidifier for a pretty decent sized crawlspace. The machine has about 289 days of runtime to keep the space humidity at 44% or better. Really quiet system with WIFI info. On day 366 my system gets an E4 code so I call the Alorair number. Bobby answers the call and doesn't transfer me, walks me through troubleshooting, and then graciously offers to send me a brand new pump. She handled the entire process! I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend this company and their products. They ARE NOT cheaply built knockoffs! This is high quality equipment that is also very rugged. And if there is a problem, they help you immediately! Great job to this company and their customer service.

There was a freon leak identified under my house that the AATC tech said did not exist. Instead, they did a $1500 repair on a 3 year old Trane unit that had no leaks. The leak under the home persisted and had to be repaired anyway. The company accepted zero responsibility for misidentifying the leak and doing the wrong repair.
