I was referred to Dr. Herrscher by my dermatologist for intractable hives following a painful wasp attack. Thanks to his expert treatment I got my life (without hives) back! Dr. Herrscher is not only the best immunologist ever, he’s also one of the most caring doctors I’ve met.

Wish I had read the Google reviews first. I had an appointment with Air Care Plano over three weeks ago and have still not received a single follow-up on my blood test results. The communication here is absolutely terrible, no updates and zero accountability. Dr. Herrscher was dismissive and seemed completely disinterested in patient care. It’s shocking how little they value their patients’ time or health. If you’re considering coming here, don’t waste your money or your patience. There are far better clinics in Plano that actually care about their patients.

I went here for almost 2 years. My first appointment with Dr. Herrscher wasn't too horrible, but he is very very inconsistent. Don't even think about mentioning MCAS too him or hes going to laugh at you. Not only that, but he wont even believe some symptoms you say you have. My very last appoitment I was telling him about some of the other weird things that were going on just trying to see if he could at least point me in a direction and he laughed at me. He said something very quickly after he laughed and then walked out. I was straight up shocked because that never happened before. The staff is also pretty rough but unfortunately that is just most medical places. I would go anywhere else but here. If this was my only choice for MCAS id rather just suffer because its not worth the emotional trauma you will get from here on top of already battling illness.

Potential MCAS sufferers…beware of Dr. Herrscher. He did not listen to me with a genuine curiosity to learn. He interrupted me, and used jargon while speaking quickly to dismiss my symptoms. He claimed I might not be eligible for labs due to insurance, but advised I go ahead and try to schedule them anyway. He was about to head out and it wasn’t until then that I decided to reflect his tone and energy back towards him. I reminded him that’s if I even WANT to proceed with that treatment, which I haven’t even decided on yet. He quickly changed up his attitude and became instantly more professional with me after that. But the issue is, I shouldn’t have to laugh at a doctor to get them to listen to me. if a doctor isn’t patient, compassionate or curious enough to LISTEN (just listen!) while I speak, please pardon my French, but why the hell should should I trust them to care for me? The way he zoned out while I was talking had me thinking he was allergic to listening to patients. At the end of my appointment, I told the nurse I wouldn’t be coming back. When she asked why, I simply told her that Dr. Herrscher was unpleasant to work. If stress triggers your symptoms, you’ll definitely want to avoid this doctor. Go to a doctor that honors your presence, not rolls their eyes at it.
My Honest Thoughts
Google
I have never truly met an altruistic medical staff until I came here. They were so attentive and the doctor spent TIME with me. She listened actively and intently in a refreshing way. The nurse was so compassionate towards my toddler and myself. I have had a lifetime of bad experiences with doctors and nurses that have kept me from caring for myself. This is the place that makes me feel so cared for that my health no longer feels like an uphill battle. I am so grateful to these wonderful people. Every patient here is in good hands.

My experience with Dr. Herrscher’s office was disappointing. I waited months for an appointment, only to have a brief interaction that left me with more questions than answers. I felt rushed and interrupted during the visit, making it difficult to communicate my concerns. The prescription I was given has been difficult to obtain, and I struggled to get guidance from the office on how to find a compounding pharmacy. I was repeatedly told I would receive a call back regarding my concerns, but follow-up was inconsistent. When I reached out after waiting over a week, I found communication with the front desk frustrating and unhelpful. I did have a positive experience with Dr. Herrscher’s assistant—she was truly fantastic—but overall, interactions with the office left me feeling dismissed and stressed. If you are dealing with a complex condition like Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and need a specialist who will provide thorough support and follow-up, I would recommend exploring other options.

If you suspect MCAS, don’t go here. I hate that they advertise it on their website but the doctor rolls his eyes at you. I went to all kinds of specialist last year and only started feeling better when another doctor suggested MCAS and started that protocol. This doctor made up his mind before even listening to me. Just a side note, I never return to doctors that don’t listen or roll their eyes at me. Won’t be returning. People are desperate to feel better. They don’t want to waste time and money to have yet another doctor roll their eyes at them. And please take MCAS off your website!

If you are looking for a Mast Cell Activation specialist, look anywhere else but here. Dr. Herrscher already decided before walking into the exam room that I was a waste of his time. He was extremely rude and dismissive from the beginning. His first question to me was, and I quote WORD FOR WORD, "What do you /think/ is wrong with you? Because there isn't anything wrong with you." Then proceeded to ask questions in a condescending tone, and interrupt while I was answering. I never got a full sentence out, and he did not want to actually listen to my medical history. He then left the room for about an hour, during which he said he was reviewing my chart, which I had all documentation sent in prior to my appointment, and came back three separate times to ask me for answers to questions I already answered when he barely let me speak. He did order the 'Mast Cell tests' and prescribe gastrocrom because "It wouldn't hurt me to take it even if I didn't have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome." Which felt like he did so only to get me out of his office. However, Dr. Herrscher failed to tell me to stop taking my leukotriene inhibitor prior to taking the tests, which would directly impact my results. My leukotriene levels were on the higher side of normal, and I am left to wonder to this day if I had been off of my medication if it would have reflected an elevated level and provided answers to my unexplained anaphylactic reactions. Instead, I continue to become 'allergic' to new things, my diet being so limited I was malnourished and had to get a nutritionist, and an extended hospitalization due to having anaphylactic reactions to multiple antibiotics, trying to fight an infection. Due to the absolutely unacceptable service I received from my initial visit (more details below), I had no intentions of returning. I sought out another allergist to interpret my results instead. But I did get my results emailed from Dr. Herrscher, which basically said that nothing was wrong with me, to take vitamins, and referred to the Gupta Program for BRAIN RETRAINING. That it is all in my head. (Ask the many providers/nurses that saw my reactions, it's not.) Besides Dr. Herrscher's absolutely HORRID bedside manner, other complaints for their despicable actions would include: • Having to put a DEPOSIT down for an appointment months and months in advance, only to be treated as I was. • The office staff being extremely rude, from the ones I've spoken to on the phone, to the receptionist, to the check out, and the nurse/medical assistant. • Dr. Herrscher literally complaining ABOUT ME, in FRONT OF ME to the check out staff. And making a point to tell then that he is only going to see one 'Mast Cell' appointment a week. I left the office crying from the way the entire appointment felt, and immediately called the provider that referred me TO HIM to warn them to never send anyone there again, explaining my terrible experience. Don't advertise on your website that you specialize in Mast Cell Activation if you don't want to see people who are coming to see you about Mast Cell Activation.

Dr Saifi and her staff are very caring, thorough and keep working on an issue until she finds it. She’s very knowledgeable and listens to her patients to offer options and recommendations. She treats my family and we are all very pleased and would highly recommend her and her staff- front office to assistants.

I don’t normally write reviews but I had to make an exception for exceptional doctor. Dr. Saifi was a refreshing surprise. I’m not accustomed to sitting with practitioners in two hour stint evaluations. It was soon apparent how well-informed and brilliant doctor Saifi is. She really knows her field. I was surprised to learn that she was aware of relatively new information discussed in recent medical conferences on the specific disorder I have. Dr. Saifi really listened to my concerns and my symptoms and she tailored my treatment specifically to my needs. I’m so pleased with the care I’m receiving. Her staff has gone above and beyond as well. There was confusion with one of my lab orders at the lab next door and Dr. Saifi’s nurse actually went next door herself, to sort this issue. Amazing, kind, efficient people. I really can’t say enough.

I cant say enough about this practice. Dr H. Has been amazing in working with my mast cell issues. Their infusion staff and center are amazing. They are always easy to schedule with and get appts when it is short notice. I have seen other doctors within the practice and have loved working with them also. It is just an all around great practice.

Dr Saifi delivers! Kind, calm, and thorough. Her bedside manner is the best I've ever encountered. When she was reading the resulting bumps on my back from my allergy test, her voice was so soothing that I fell asleep. The staff is great, too. They're personable and knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions about your therapy. Jennifer administered my rush treatment and quickly became my favorite. She's cheerful and funny and always remembers what we chatted about on past visits. The reason I docked a star is Yvette, the billing contact. I have two insurances and she couldn't figure out that you take the copay at point of service, then you bill the primary, THEN bill the secondary, THEN have the patient pay any remainder. She actually accused me of not letting them know when I got a second insurance coverage in front of the rest of the staff (I had notified the office in advance), and she would shake me down for money for my serum every time I came in for a shot after that. I had to call my secondary coverage provider myself to find out where they were in processing the claim so I could get her off my back when I went in for shots. Finally, they paid and I ended up with a credit, which would have been hundreds larger if I had let her push me into paying before insurance was processed. I have an HSA account that I pay with, as well, so that money would have had to go back into my HSA account and I would not have been able to use it for anything other than medical care. For me, that isn't a problem because I have plenty of savings, but for others, that could be a major financial issue if they were counting on having funds available. Most Americans don't have enough in the bank to absorb even a minor financial emergency, so someone else in that position without the advantage of a certain amount of discretionary income might then be left without enough for rent, mortgage, or even food, and that's not okay. Maybe she should get some education into how insurance claims and billing works since that's her job

Dr. Saifi has been a “GAME Changer” for myself and Family. Her dedication to getting me back to optimal health has been a task but one she has taken on. Her nurses and Physicians Assistant Katy are AWESOME. If your looking for someone who cares search no further.

Dr Safi is LITERALLY everything you could want in a doctor. Her bedside manor is the best. She and the staff are so kind and comforting. I also left feeling more educated about my allergies and what I can to to improve. I’m so grateful to have found them. Living in Texas with allergies is NOT for the faint of heart, but if you come here, they’ll definitely come to your rescue.

I recently saw Dr. Saifi, but really her new nickname should be Dr. Safety! She was a phenomenal doctor to see, one whom is knowledgeable, compassionate, informative and kind. Even though it was a tele visit you can feel the confidence and care of Dr. Safety!

I highly recommend Dr. Herrscher. He is a phenomenal Immunologist/Allergist who is kind and very knowledgeable of rare immunodeficiencies and other medical conditions. His expertise and care has been instrumental in keeping me out of a hospital which means a great deal to me. He has referred me to other excellent specialists for my secondary conditions to which I’m very thankful. His infusion center is a nice atmosphere with comfy recliners and a relaxing place to get IVIG infusions or other biological treatments.

The doctor we consulted with was knowledgeable, understandable, and wonderful. However, the rest of the staff have been disastrous. First, a lady said my infant couldn't get a skin test until she turns one year old. I called back to confirm a month later and still the same answer so I waited months to book the appointment. When I did, a different lady said I could have done the skin test anytime since they performed it on a one month old before. Why the heck did they make me wait six months?? I wanted answers since the blood test had false positives. After booking the appointment, they called to confirm and it was for the wrong date and time. Lady said doctor wasn't in at the scheduled time and would be out for two weeks. Then why book us in the first place? Horrendous all around! Canceled appointment and went with another clinic. Such a headache.

Dr. Saifi is an amazing physician, and I use that word sparingly. I have long standing auto-immune and allergy issues, and her attention to detail compared to the many providers I've seen is unparalleled. Dr. Saifi is knowledgeable, caring, and attentive, and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Herrscher was very thorough, very knowledgeable, and he took time to hear my concerns and find out what expectations I had of him. In addition, the office staff was very responsive and friendly. We look forward to developing a relationship with Dr. Herrscher and his staff.

Dr. Safia truly cares. She is kind she listens and thinks outside the box. After seeing a handful of doctors, repeating same tests and blood she is a breath of fresh air! She Is thorough with her testing and explains things so you understand. I am so happy I was referred to her!

Dr Saifi is always the best. My wife and I have been seeing her since 2017 when my wife had pneumonia which turned to sepsis and she almost died because we thought she was allergic to penicillin and was on alternative antibiotics. After 10 weeks of IV therapy she slowly started recovery. We went to Dr. Saifi on the recommendation of our Infectious Disease Specialist for drug allergy testing. Turns out she no longer had her childhood allergy to penicillin. We can only wish that we had done this sooner and our options for the sepsis treatment would have been much more successful. We now see her regularly for immune and allergy testing to make sure we are properly immunized against future infections. We are both seniors and this is something everyone should take seriously and be tested. Dr. Saifi always takes an abundance of time to talk to us not only about our immune system but our overall health in general including all areas of care to better address our health issues completely and does so much better than our other doctors including specialists and primary care. We cannot thank and recommend Dr Saifi enough to express our sincere appreciation for all of her help and assistance in our medical care she has given us.

I have been seeing Dr. Herrscher since 2007. I have Allergy Exacerbated Asthma. I first started seeing him because he promotes oral applied immunotherapy, which has been determined by the AMA to be the best At that time I had an insurance policy that would cover that therapy. Then I lost that insurance and most Insurance Companies and now even Medicare will not pay for it. He has been treating my Asthma and we have done it all through the years. Now I am on Fasenra which is an out and out miracle drug. I highly recommend it. And because of recently going on Medicare I can now afford finally to go through immunotherapy but it is shots and not orally. I can tell you the whole staff treats me great. And most of them give awesome shots or injections. Abigail which is one of the staff and a nurse for Dr. Herrscher, is especially good. You could not put your Allergies and or Asthma in better hands, in my opinion.
