Fantastic. Although originally they were going to have a crew of 3 for five days, they ended up sending a crew of six and getting the work done in half the time. The team was INCREDIBLY hard working, efficient, friendly and kept me informed every step of the way. They turned what could have been a fairly horrible holiday experience into barely a speedbump in my life. In addition, every person I've talked to at McDaniel, from June and Alex on the phone, to the entire crew at my house - they've been nothing but supportive and helpful. I could not be more impressed. And the rates are reasonable!

This company is primarily a heating & air-conditioning service provider, but also does plumbing work and was recommended to me by a local contractor. The telephone rep was very responsive and scheduled a call early the next day, and the plumber came on time, was friendly and polite, diagnosed the problem (a loud surging sound like a steam locomotive when a faucet was turned on) quickly, and provided a very reasonable cost estimate and performed the work on the spot. The repair was effective and neat, the work site thoroughly cleaned. A good experience, and I definitely plan to use them again.

Upon returning from a weekend out of town trip, we discovered water leaking from near the main water shut off in the basement.  Damage was limited due to insulation covering the valve preventing the water from spewing over a greater area and it appeared as if the leak has recently started due to the amount of water on the floor.  I found McDaniel Service an Angie's list, liked the reviews plus the fact that they are located nearby and gave them a call first thing in the morning.  The phone was promptly answered by an actual human.  I don't recall the lady's name but she was professional, polite, and sympathetic to our no water situation.  A technician was scheduled for later that morning.  The tech did not arrive until later in the afternoon, he was delayed at this previous job.  He found the problem within minutes, gave me an estimate and the job was done within an 90 minutes.  The tech was professional and cleaned up after himself.  Highly recommend. <br />

One of the best companies I have ever worked with. I thought I had an outdoor line leak. Water line Insurance company said they would sent McDaniel and then I checked the company's  rating on Angie's list. The plumbers immediately came and said leak was not outdoor and not covered by insurance, they detected the inside problem at shutoff valves. They appeared competent, professional so I decided to have them estimate costs of repair for other minor plumbing issues. The estimate seemed. fair  The work was scheduled the following week: excellent, cordial, professional workmanship even in the low ceiling  area under stairs where water line valves are located.   When I  called the following week and said one leak had continued., they came the same day and fixed the problem for no added charge.  Answered all questions very courteously <br />

There seems to be a very slow leakage of coolant in our in our A/C unit.   He thoroughly examined the unit but could not find the actual source of the leak, but he topped it up and it functioned perfectly all summer. <br /> He will be back shortly to check out the heating system before winter. <br /> He was very pleasant and efficient. <br />

This Big Deal was great!  We needed to freshen up our house, and the painter gave us 8 solid hours of interior painting.  He focused on the high traffic and hard to reach areas, and now our house looks so much better.  He did a nice job of patching the walls, so the paint looked nice.  They did exactly what we needed them to do, and I would recommend this company. <br />

They were wonderful! They fit me in because of the high temperature outside and I had no air conditioning! They were punctual, friendly, hard- working, and informative! When I had trouble with the thermostat they came back that night to fix the problem. In fact, Craig, my technician, was leaving for a cruise the next day but he still called to make sure it was taken care of! I really liked the way they all worked together! Everyone at McDaniel's was very patient and explained everything to me in detail! I highly recommend them! :) <br />

Having failed in the Homeowner Fix-it area, I used Angie's List to locate a reliable plumbing service, I found McDaniel Service Inc.  I liked what I read about their Company and gave them a call.  What great Customer Service, I spoke with a very well informed person who understood my problem and promptly found an appointment on the same day. <br /> I later received a phone call from their office saying that they had a Plumber in the area and if we were available for them to arrive early.  They arrived within 15 min of the call ready to work.  Tim and Larry, went to our bad drain and located our problem quickly.  They took one trip out to their truck, and came in with the right equipment and went to work.  <br /> They needed to Snake our Basement Drain to the Main Sewer Line, and that was it.  They cleaned their area and removed their equipment quickly and efficiently.  In less then an hour they were done and I had a Free Flowing Home again. <br /> A Thank You to McDaniel Service Inc, their Office Staff, and especially Tim and Larry for a Fast, Friendly and Effective Job. <br /> I will definitely be using all of their Services in the Near Future. <br /> <br /> <br />

I had good experience with them and they did a good job.  They charge me about $139 for annual maintenance contract.  I would use them again in the future.

They are fantastic. I called them to come out and they were here within a half hour. They are truly incredible. As bad as the mess was, they were really forthcoming. The service clean-up was perfect. We spent $5600 on the job. They had to dig up the whole front yard to get out the water pipe, and when they were done, they had even put the plants back the way they originally were, and we couldn’t even tell that they had been there. It was really amazing.

McDaniels responded immediately to get the torrent of water coming into our house stopped.  After a thorough evaluation, they provided an estimate to replace our water line with a new service.  That is where the magic began.  Bruce and team showed up exactly on time and proceeded to excavate our yard.  To make a long story short, they completed the job in one day.  It's impossible to determine that at one time our yard was a huge mess.  McDaniels put our shrubs and even our flowers back.  The County inspector even mentioned that it was hard do imagine such a major event took place.Simply stated, McDaniels completed the job on time and on cost in the most professional manner conceivable.  We are extremely satisfied with the superb skills and consideration of their employees and management.  To a person, they went above and beyond to ensure our complete satisfaction.

McDaniel Services was recommended to me by Virginia-American Water Company to inspect my sewer line, which was backing up and appeared to have a break in the front yard.  (I had been told by two other companies that the entire sewer line under my house and in my front yard needed to be replaced, including digging up my yard with a backhoe and digging up the floor of my basement, all at a cost of almost $20,000 according to one company and $30,000 according to the second.)  Bruce and Will of McDaniel Services came to my home promptly at the agreed time, inspected the sewer line, and used a camera to show me two areas in the line needing repair, one in the front yard and one under the house.  They also showed me that the remainder of the line was in good condition and did not need replacement.  Under contract to the water company, with whom I have an insurance policy (highly recommended), they repaired the area in the front yard and did a careful job of replacing the landscaping.  The cost of repairing the area under the house was my responsibility and I was so impressed with the service, the attitude, and the quality of work that I saw on the initial repair, that I asked McDaniel to go ahead and do the repair under the house as well.  In addition, having suffered through a city sewer backup into my basement two years ago, I asked them to install a "flapper," recommended by the city to prevent such backups. Again, Bruce and Will were prompt, professional, and meticulous in their work. They showed me exactly what needed to be repaired and provided the service as agreed, asking me to inspect the pieces of line they removed so that I could see the damage for myself, replacing concrete where the floor had to be dug up, being careful not to damage walls or trim, and leaving the work areas clean and neat when finished.  The inside repair revealed that the sewer stack from the basement to the main floor also was damaged.  They included this in the repair at no additional charge, replaced the section of wall that had to be cut and retaped and prepared it for painting.  At no time did either of them or anyone from McDaniel try to sell me a service or parts that I did not need or request on my own.  During the several days it took to complete the repairs, I had occasion to talk and correspond with Bob and June McDaniel in their offices, as well as other office staff.  Again, I found everyone with whom I dealt to be professional, polite, and very straight forward.  I am so impressed by this company that I also am talking with them about possibly installing a gas furnace for my home.  I recommend them without reservation.
