A Family Business You Can Trust I first met Pete back in 2021 after relocating from Brooklyn to Freeport, not knowing a soul or who to trust with my home. Finding Pete and his family was one of the best things that happened to me since making the move. Pete is everything you can hope for in a plumber. Pete arrives on time, he is incredibly respectful, and professional, and takes the time to walk through every step of the job so you always know what's being done and why. He doesn't just fix the problem, he educates you on how to maintain your plumbing so you're not caught off guard down the road. And when the work is done he leaves the space cleaner than he found it.That alone says everything about the kind of person he is.What makes this even more special is that it's a true family business. Pete's brother Steve and the rest of the team handle Electrical, Refrigeration, and air conditioning and they bring that same level of professionalism, punctuality and genuine care to every job. I have used both their plumber and electrician services and have been very satisfied every time. This latest time it was for a plumbing issue. Pete efficiently took care of our problem and was very patient with my questions. He also kept us informed of when he would come and if there were any schedule changes, which was greatly appreciated. I value his expertise and pleasant manner and will call him again when needed.

Pete came on his day off to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. He did a great job and pointed out some other issues that needed to be addressed soon. We have used A & I for years. Pete (plumbing) and his brother Steve (electrical) are both professionals. I highly recommend them for any plumbing, heating, HVAC, or electrical work needed.

These guys probably saved my 82yo mother's life. This last cold snap we had caused my mother's heating pipes to freeze. I know how busy they were but to help my mother, they came right to help. Turns out, her boiler froze and cracked but to save the day, they hooked up this massive heater to bring her house up to a livable temperature until a new boiler could be installed. They went above and beyond to help out my mom. And for the record, my mom wouldn't leave her house because of her cats. Instead, a new boiler was installed the next day. I can't thank A&I Mechanical enough.

A&I came through in the clutch for me. I had to get my water meter changed and needed a ball valve replaced. Upon arrival the problem eas quickly assessed and got to work. It took about a hour. I would definitely recommend using them.

Third time using A&I..Furnace went out during a freezing night called one company they came but said it was blower motor $2400..followed my gut and waited for A&I to see if they could come..Eric arrived 9:30 next morning it wasn't blower motor and paid $700 for parts and labor instead of $2400 and was very honest

A1 mechanical got to my house 10 minutes after my emergency call.. they found the problem and repaired it promptly and professionally..5 stars!

This HVAC team was amazing. Prompt, efficient, gave 100% what was promised and then some (even on cost), and went above and beyond. I called in a panic because my grandparents natural gas furnace went on 4/23/24 and my grandmother is on oxygen. I spoke to Jeff who explained they are a 4th generation business and he has lived in Freeport since 1977. Jeff told me he would get either himself or one of his sons (Matt or Eric) to come check it out this afternoon! That afternoon! It’s a navian and these systems are so complicated, it’s hard enough to get someone to work on them. We thought the whole thing needed to be replaced, and that’s all most HVAC contractors would do, so it was going to cost thousands. Jeff said ‘let us take a look’. When his son came, he said it looks like the internal pump and he quoted a number in the hundreds! They said they needed to order the part and it won’t be here for 2 days. But they surprised my grandparents, both Matt & Eric coming the NEXT DAY, fixing the whole furnace, and changing the thermostat that had been on the Fritz for the exact price they quoted. My grandparents had hot water and heat again before Matt & Eric left, within under 2 hours!! My grandmother is normally freezing at night because of the heat inconsistency but she was finally warm last night! I highly recommend this family of HVAC professionals. They are incredibly knowledgeable. Thank you A&I!!

Had a slow leak I didn’t want turned into something more. After calling and explaining as much, was informed of the pricing and what it would entail. Pete came the same day and within 20 minutes was finished. I was so glad it wasn’t anything more major. Absolutely professional and friendly.
