Purchased a ductless mini split heat pump to serve as the primary main floor heat source in a home we where purchasing that only has electric services, no gas. They came out and measured and looked around, gave us quotes. I wanted a Mitsubishi but the guy talked me into the brand they recommend Carrier saying it would work better. Funny enough now a year later Mitsubishi is what they are pushing on their website. Install went fine, $5,000 later I have it installed. First summer it cannot cool the space to under 75 in the summer running all day, I figure we bought it for heating so cut our losses on the cooling being effective. The first winter, its a mild winter, it cannot heat the house above 68 degrees we have had to use the baseboard heaters and now the next winter install a pellet stove to offset what was a $300-350 heat bill last winter for several months. The mini split was supposed to be efficient and cut our electric bill in the winter but our usage is up from the previous homeowner that actually heated the whole house, we only heat 3 rooms as two bedrooms are empty, we even put the baseboards on a programmable thermostat and have cut back use there. I feel like they over sold the efficiency of the unit and messed up on estimating what size unit we would need for the space to be heated and cooled, it just feels undersized. I reached out to the company several months ago around our 1 year mark and they never got back to me on my issue with it being undersized.

The service technician arrived within the scheduled service window. They found that the original thermostat was faulty and replaced it. After making sure the new thermostat was working properly, they put the wood cover over the water heater space and put the clothes dryer back in place. The water heater is not easy to access. All the work was performed in less than one hour. Only negative is that the labor charge of $115/hr seems high. They do give a senior discount for service.

I turned all the water off on the furnace and called temproght. It was on the weekend and the technician suggested I wait until Monday which I did. They sent a serviceman out who diagnosed the problem as a faulty pressure reducing valve. He wanted to put a different kind of valve in and redo my intake piping with very expensive copper pipe. I refused and told him that I was sure that the existing valve could be replaced without a problem. I located a replacement valve. He was insistent that he go pick up the valve. I said I could pick it up while he was doing the annual maintenance. He refused. He went to the supply store and charged me time and mileage and charged almost 2.5 times the retail price of the valve. and bought a new pressure relief valve. The total bill was over $600. Then he failed to purge the system and didn't turn the zoned heating valves all back on. The pipes started banging in the furnance every time it turned on. It turned out that the expansion tank was faulty. I had to find another repair man to fix Temp right's mess. So it totally out $800 for what should have been a $200-300 job. When I called the manager they refused to lower the bill stating their billing was standard business practice. Do not call Temp-right if you have any choice.

When I made the appointment, I was told 1 or 2 business days, but a few hours later they called and said a technician was already available. The technician replaced the broken water line and leaking shutoff valve under the mobile home. He wrapped insulation and heating wire around the new line to winterize it. The whole job took about 1 1/2 hours. After the technician left, I noticed I was overcharged for one part. After a few calls to their office, I was reimbursed for the overcharge plus a senior discount. The service at Temp Right Service is excellent in every department.

I noted that water was freely flowing out of my over pressure valve and called tempright on the weekend after I had turned off the boiler and the water. The service man agreed that it could wait until Monday. I called Monday morning and they sent a workman out that morning. The pressure reducing valve had rust and debris in it and needed replacing. Initially the service man wanted to redo all my piping with copper pipe and put in a different valve. I refused and stated I would find the same valve and I wasn't going to have him put in expensive piping that couldn't be converted should I need to put in a new boiler. I found a store in town and stated I would go in and get it while he serviced the boiler for it's annual service. He was insistent that he go pick it up. The fix was a very simple fix. He added a new pop off valve. He turned the water back on and adjusted the pressure and serviced the boiler. When he turned the water back on, he missed turning on some of the zone valves. Then I got the bill for over $500. The marked up the valves 200%, charged me for mileage and time back and forth to pick up the part as well as to my home and back and tried to overcharge me time for when he was out here. He backed down when I called him on it. Had I not noticed that he had not turned on the zone valves I would have had other problems. He clearly wanted to add unneeded work to increase charges. When I discovered that he had doubled the valve price over retail I called his supervisor who informed me it was standard business practice. The overall work was satisfactory but I would never again have them work for me unless there was absolutely no other option.

We called the provider last night at 11:00 PM when we smelled an electrical burning smell. We turned off the furnace and went back to bed after the answering service took our info. The office person called us about 8:15 AM to say she had a technician who could be by in the PM. She called again later saying he was on his way. He called before he left Missoula to get furnace model number so he could have the parts with him. He arrived shortly after noon, tested the fan motor, and found out it was the capacitor, which is a lot cheaper than the fan motor. He replaced it, checked it, and advised us that we need a new thermostat due to corroded wires. The thermostat kept blowing the fuse. The furnace is running now and his fee was quite reasonable. He was friendly and professional. I was impressed.

The technician was rude, spoke to me as if i was uneducated and very curt. He claimed that certain parts of my furnace needed to be replaced and annual service for cleaning was needed. The next day, the furnace did not function again so I called the office and relayed the issue and no call was ever returned. I tried several times to resolve the issue. Finally, I hired a different company and was able to see and understand what was needed, not done, and left uncompleted. i would never reccommend this company, and, in fact, have warned others of my experience.
I asked them to plug some holes that another company put in my venting. They didn't do that. The salesman sold me a furnace that was way more than I needed. I think he's on commission. Someone who's on commission isn't serving the customer first. Also, they charge more than other companies for servicing.
Representative came to my house and assessed what needed to be done to take out the old water heater and install the new one. We set up a time for when two people would come and make the change out. I told him that I needed to have someone come over to my house to be there when they arrived. When the day arrived, no one showed up, so I called. One man came at about 3:00. He took out the old water heater and installed the new one. He said he would return the next day with someone else to help haul the old heater up the stairs and to install the earthquake strap. I noticed that I had minimal water pressure in the shower so asked my son if he could return the next day to be there when the plumber came and to tell him of the shower problem. The next day I did not hear from them, I called in the afternoon and was told that I probably would not see anyone because all of the plumbers were busy. The next day, two people came and hauled the water heater up stairs and installed the earthquake strap. When the plumber looked at the shower, he said that there was a leak and that he would come back the next day to replace a filter. He said that if that didn't work, he'd need to replace pipes. That day when he re-installed the shower handle he put it on upside down. I didn't hear from anyone the next day, but the next he called and asked if he could come over. I made sure my son was available to be at the house (for the fourth time). When he came he took the faucet apart, said it had stopped leaking and that everything looked fine. He re-installed it right side up this time, but when I got home I saw that it was off-center and that I could not turn the hot water on. I called again the next day and he came over in the afternoon and put the faucet back the right way. The pressure problem is still not fixed completely, but I hesitate to call them again, as neither my son nor I can take anymore time off from work.
The representative who came to my house was friendly and professional. The plumber did a great job installing the new water heater. The receptionist with whom I spoke on numerous occasions was understanding and kind. Unfortunately, they seem to be over-scheduled and the follow through was lacking. I understand a company being available for emergencies that come up, but they should be able to accommodate previously scheduled customers, too, without the inconveniences I encountered.
The technician arrived on time, went straight to work, and completed the job as promised. He was polite and professional, and his services were thorough, much more detailed than I had expected. He removed the blower and motor as well as the burners and flame sensor, checked all electrical components and connections, inspected the humidifier and replaced the pad, etc. I have used this service annually for about 5 years and I will continue it.
It went well. Everyone showed up on time and was professional. They added an AC condenser and a coil to existing furnace and duct work. Work was done in a day.
We received three quotes. Their price was $1,000 less than the quote we received for the installation of a Trane from the Costco-affiliated installer.
The repairman arrived at our home within a couple of hours after we first contacted them. This was impressive since the first company we called couldn't come out for two more days. The repairman was knowledgeable, efficient, prompt and had the part on his truck. What more could we ask for?
They were very good. They come when we need them. A year ago, we need to have a new furnace and they gave us our new furnace the day before the Thanksgiving. They also gave us a discount.
