Advantage Heating & Cooling

December 4th we had Julio (from Advantage) come out to service our boiler. Had some banging noise we were concerned about. He came in with no testing equipment whatsoever and started looking at our boiler. He adjusted the water pressure up to 24#, dialed down the max heat to 160, changed the pump speed to medium, and closed a valve that does some kind of recirculation (?). Two days later we had all kinds of problems. Boiler was short cycling, banging and not heating the house. I called Julios personal cell, and he offered to come back and fix everything **on the side** He said it was way cheaper to go through him than the company. I found this super odd considering he left the boiler in worse shape than when he arrived, and we paid Advantage Heating for that service. We called another company to look at the boiler. This guy brought in all kinds of testing apparatus. He had to change the max temp setting, should never be below 200, per manufacturer specs, re-circulation thing(?) should be open, and adjusting water pressure to 18#, pressure in the tank was way too high. Checked the gas pressure and that was too high as well. I would have thought Julio would have checked all these things too, maybe you get those things **on the side** After much contemplation and paying someone to fix Julios **service**; I called Ben the owner of Advantage Heating. He said he would make some inquiries and get back with me the next day, did not happen. I called back and he said he would get back to me in two days, did not happen. Called today, he offered a cleaning service next year for free. I told him I was disappointed with him blowing me off twice, and he said that frankly they hear **all kinds of stories** and did not expect me to call back. He also said that Julio had a different story than mine (yeah right, you do not say?). He said he would mail a check for my refund. I am not holding my breath, but I will update if it happens.

The owner personally came out and did the quote for our busted water heater since it was a Friday morning and they wanted to start quickly if we hired them. He came out within an hour of the initial call with a quote. After we gave the go ahead, they were on site within 2 hours starting the install. 4 hours later they were done. Quick, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. I am looking to them to do my furnace install next year. Will definitely do business with again.

Great job. Very reasonably priced and did not try to up sell us. In fact, they pointed out that what we were looking for in an HVAC replacement was too much for our house. Very good job.

I only hired them to do diagnostic work. Their tech did a thorough job of diagnosing the problem, but the repair quote was more than I wanted to invest in an old furnace. They bid on a new furnace, but the brand they represented (Armstrong) did not have good reviews; I chose to go with another company that installed a Rheem.

I will start by saying I am very demanding customer, and before hiring a company do extensive research. We are in the process of adding solar panels to our house, and decided to convert to a dual fuel system. This is comprised of our existing gas furnaces, and the addition of 2 heat pumps for cooling and supplemental heat. I took estimates for the heat pumps from 5 different companies, and Advantage provided the most competitive bid, as well as demonstrating complete understanding of our project. In fact, their bid was 57% less than our highest quote. The work was completed quickly, with each member of the crew polite and professional. We are completely satisfied, and highly recommend Ben and Team.

Steve the technician called 30-minutes before the appointment and asked if he could come early, arrived 10-minutes later, which was 20-minutes early and was very professional. Did some extra work to ensure a duct was secure for no extra money, that took him about 5-minutes. I will hire again!

Technician was great. Thought the problem was fixed and it started acting up again just as he was about to pull out of my driveway. He was so kind when I went running back out to tell him. He came back in and went after it again. Furnace is working now. Very pleased!
