Genuinely fraudulent service - billing significantly higher than standard rates and adding work hours their techs could not possibly have worked. Dispatcher was unprofessional and expected to bill me for a time period I said my unit was not available due to her own oversight. Service manager was also unable to explain why hours billed for technician was 2x what would have been reasonable EVEN WHEN accounting for all of their incompetencies. I think this is the first review I have ever left for a company because I wish I had been warned & I would have chosen a different provider. A $2k+ bill for less than 30 minutes of plumbing work, double counting drive time + a double trip charge, a 20x markup on a part anyone could have bought at Home Depot 1 block away- just a disgusting attempt to rip off a customer. I work in a breakfix/ repair business as well and was disturbed by the lack of integrity and general ethics.

If Hayes does your plumbing for you and something turns out to have been done incorrectly, don't expect them to come back and fix it. After we reported the problem and requested service, Hayes ghosted us and now we have to pay another plumber to come out and remedy the problem. NOTE: Hayes responded promptly to my review and sent someone out this morning. Thanks for paying attention to online reviews!

As a property manager for several communities, I can attest that Hayes has been incredibly helpful, professional and prompt each time I call in for service. Their team is quick to reply, and has done phenomenal work for both residents and and common area issues alike!

Our association consisting of 4 buildings each with its own boilers ran into an emergency. We needed a boiler ASAP and it was during the coldest time of the year. Hayes Mechnical came through! Hayes Mechanical company was heaven sent. They were promote and even before securing the contract with us, they said, we have the boiler you need, while competitors said it would take a few weeks. We went with Hayes mechanical and we are very satisfied with their promote response, willingness to work throughout the day to get the job done and done perfectly. We are sticking with Hayes mechanical to maintain our other boilers. I wholeheartedly recommend this company. You will not be disappointed. All our families in the building that had a broken boiler are very grateful to have such a fast turnaround especially during the harsh winter.

If I could give NEGATIVE 5 stars I would. This Company Is Terrible with who they hire they need to be more careful on the kind of people they hire to drive there vans! At 9:01 AM On 2/23/22 As I was driving on a construction site on 22nd in Broadview, IL there is a lane where its one car goes while the other waits when it came to my turn he stepped on it even though he had to wait until I went and he almost crashed into me and into the car in the front because he did not want to stop, driving crazy could have caused an accident. LICENSE PLATE # 2906183B. I hope the company takes action on the driver because that was very unethical and very uncalled for. Driving like a crazy person is dangerous for everyone. Terrible experience.

Hayes Mechanical does highly professional and skillful work for us, installing and maintaining the heat pumps for our old church (built in 1888). Our previous HVAC company thought we needed a whole new heat pump for $60k; but Hayes had a metal fabricator who could rebuild the coils instead - at less than a third of the cost. It has been working great for two years now, and their expert Otto provides regular quarterly maintenance too. I recommend Hayes Mechanical highly.

Hayes has a dedicated staff that is knowledgeable, provides excellent customer service, and provides quality work. They have been a huge help in maintaining and fixing our associations HVAC and plumbing needs. Hayes has completed two major boiler systems for us and we can not thank them enough!

Hayes Mechanical to the rescue! I was so impressed with the timeliness and professionalism of the service tech, Cantrell. He arrived, tested to find the issue, fixed the immediate problem and explained how the leak started! This company and the skilled knowledgeable service techs are awesome!

My mechanic, Ed, was super helpful and thorough with his work. He took the time during diagnosis to explain to me exactly what was going on despite my limited knowledge of AC systems. He was very patient afterwards as well to explain to me how the system works overall. Both Ed, and the service manager, Kevin, were also excellent in assisting me with my home warranty company to call and get approval for repairs as they were reimbursing me for my work with Hayes. There were long wait times, and conversations Kevin had on his own, likely totaling an extra hour of support, which him and Ed both did very willingly and without any frustration. It was much appreciated. Highly recommend!

We used Hayes to replace the very old, bit, bulky boiler in our church. This was a commercial job. They were wonderful to work with from the first contact where we had them look at our system and provide an estimate all the way thru to the end of the project. Ryan was fantastic in terms of helping us obtain reimbursements that were available thru several sources saving us unexpected money. He did all the work so we didn't have to fill out the paperwork. Communicating with the Hayes team was excellent. They showed up at 7 am every day just as they said. This mattered because we had to meet them to let them in the building. They were respectful, professional and just nice people. The commercial boiler they recommended was high efficiency and they could answer all of our questions. They finished the job within 2 weeks just as they said they would even though there were some additional issues with pipes that came up. I also really liked that they had a person pick up the old pipes and recycle/sell them as opposed to having them sit in the alley or get disposed of in a dump somewhere. The price they quoted was the price we paid. I cannot recommend them enough for commercial jobs. We had other quotes but valued the extra hands-on attention we thought Hayes would provide and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend them.

I contracted Hayes for a major boiler system overhaul at a high school. Their techs are all extremely professional and very knowledgeable. Their communication is top tier. I would definitely contract them again for any mechanical needs,

Hayes Mechanical partnered with us to replace a 170 ton rooftop chiller. Fast, professional and an unbelievably smooth install. From project management, coordination, paperwork and help with ComEd incentives, Hayes Mechanical was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Highly recommended.

The piping that connects my condo building's central air conditioner with my apartment started leaking in July, and the building engineer recommended asking Hayes Mechanical to fix the leak. We did so. A Hayes technician came and was able to deal with the problem in something like 30 or 45 minutes. So far so good. The problem is, five weeks later we received a $331 bill for "labor and consumables." I objected, asking for a breakdown. According to the e-mail I got from Hayes, the technician claimed he'd been in the apartment for an hour and a half (he hadn't). Because my partner (who’d contacted Hayes) inexplicably hadn't asked for a cost estimate, I felt I had no choice but to pay. The lesson: while Hayes may do good work, they will charge you a small fortune for doing so, even if that requires lying about the time required. If you use their services, demand a cost estimate in writing before they start.

Hayes Mechanical and its Plumbing division has been a blessing to partner with. For more than a decade they have aways worked in a professional manner, provided insightful advice, and responded quickly and swiftly to our everyday and emergency needs. My thanks to everyone who works there for being an integral part of my teams.

I can't thank Ryan Smith enough for pulling through recently, ensuring the building had heat in a timely fashion as if we had waited one more week. Hayes Mechanical was the winning bidder on a mechanical preventative maintenance contract for several schools at which I work. They respond to our service calls very quickly and quote reasonable prices on work. They also make sure to have the same service technician work at each school when possible, so the technician can build a working knowledge of how the systems function and historical issues each system has experienced. We love working with Hayes.

They were terrible! I needed an estimate for my air conditioning unit. They sent someone out, and then I am nearly positive they forgot to contact me regarding an estimate I had to call them at least 5 times (I should have realized then to not use them). They told me I needed new trays and gave me the cost of $900 for the work and that they would have to cut open the ceiling and that I would need to hire someone to drywall after they finished the work. The day before they are supposed to come do the work, they call me and ask if the wall was opened up for them to do the work., no it wasn't opened up because you never told me to have it opened up! Also, they never sent me a formal quote with the details and such. I would say this was the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with. Then I had a new company come out and they fixed the problem in 30 minutes for $200. Interesting... if you are looking for a mechanical company, I would use maximum.

The repairman was pleasant, thorough, knowledgeable, clean. He cleaned out some parts next to the motor. Very honest! Excellent work!!!!

We had an emergency situation in our building with 4 units last night (Dec 23,2022), where all of us were having water come up from our basement drain from the sewage line. We had a clogged pipe that needed to be rodded. I want to thank Bill for coming out to us on Woodlawn in New Lenox, IL so quickly and during this crazy cold weather we’ve had AT NIGHT! Bill was unbelievably helpful and so kind even though he had to leave his house where he had family over to come assist us! We weren’t sure if we were going to even get someone out within the day or a couple days later, but Bill came through! 5 stars for this man! Thank you so much again!! Our whole building appreciates you so much!!

Great service, guy out here in MC helped me with my tire I'm very thankful. I asked for a air compressor and he went and got a tire plug kit and did the entire job. 5 stars hands down

I wouldn’t even recommend this company to my enemy. This is the worst company I have ever worked with. They charged my grandmother $450 for a furnace check!!! No exaggeration!! NO WORK... ABSOLUTELY NO WORK was done. The note on the account only states what the technician found and what needs to be done. They never got back to her about parts that she needed nor did they fix the furnace. Definitely would NOT recommend. Please save yourself the frustration.
