We replaced our smaller AC unit and heat pump, we had it for over 15 years and it was failing. Carl and Eddie showed up punctual and got straight to work. They were very professional and courteous. Once the install was complete they did a great job of showing how to use the new features of the unit and wall controller. Highly recommend.

I need to share with you the great experience I had this week watching Kyle and Freddie installing my new HVAC system. They are truly a great team !! They arrived and immediately started removing the old system and began assessing what needed to be done. Freddie knew exactly what Kyle needed and had it ready for him before Kyle asked. Freddie never stopped, when Kyle didn't need him Freddie was preparing for the next steps or taping seams or cleaning up. Kyle's expertise was amazing to watch. Whether it was braising pipes or connecting the complex wiring he made it look easy (it ISN'T). When Kyle began to install the compressor unit outside he was concerned about the pressure readings. He spent a lot of time discussing it with the office and they decided to return the unit to Carrier and get a another one which they installed the next morning. The unit was probably ok and Kyle could have installed it BUT he didn't want to risk installing something that was questionable. Its called integrity! The system is in and it works great. The installation is VERY neat and they left my garage cleaner than they found it. I highly recommend McDevitt. I've been a client for 12 years and I've always been pleased with the services they provide.

We have used McDevitt ever since we relocated to Hilton Head and have always been satisfied with the service. Recently the HVAC unit in our extension failed. Chris Tuttle helped me understand and make the correct choice for the replacement system, he also took a lot of care for me to understand the paperwork. The installation team of Kyle and Fred arrived on time, explained what they would be doing for us. They properly prepared the room to ensure there would be no damage. They worked steadily, kept me up to date and completed the work in the time I was anticipating. Their final clean up was perfect and my wife and I were very, very pleased with the result. We had 2 systems installed yesterday and today in our home. The technicians arrived on time, were both knowledgeable and professional, and both installations went smoothly and quickly. Today Jamie came over for annual maintenance of our units. I told him about a problem we were having and he went out of his way to troubleshoot the issue and get us back on track. Cannot say enough nice stuff about Jamie. He was informative and very polite!

We have used McDevitt Air for a number of years. Our new home has 3 HVAC units from the previous owners and over the last 5 years we have had issues with each one at different times. We called McDevitt Air and they responded quickly with an immediate appointment, arrived promptly, and resolved each problem. Afterwards, Todd, our technician each time, gave us advice on how to avoid future problems. Good advice since we have not had any repeat issues that they have worked on. We would recommend them to any of our friends, and you, for your service needs. 5 Stars!

Lucas, Kyle and Freddie came to our house today to do our annual maintenance and to install a Carrier mini-split for our new Lanai and a soft start for our existing whole house unit. They were friendly, efficient and very professional! Highly recommend!

I strongly advise anyone considering McDevitt Air to be cautious. I paid for a Carrier model 38MURAQ24AA3, but they installed a 38MURAQ18AA3 — a smaller unit with almost one ton less cooling capacity than what I paid for. For three years, I’ve tried to get the issue resolved. Instead of acknowledging the clear mismatch, McDevitt Air has repeatedly offered excuses about why the system isn’t performing properly, while avoiding the fact that they installed the wrong unit. This is not how a reputable company should operate. They failed to deliver what was contracted, have been unresponsive and evasive, and continue to leave me with an underpowered system. I would not trust McDevitt Air with any HVAC installation or service.

Had a minor issue with our ac, and we had called up McDevitt to see if they could troubleshoot and fix it. They were quick to get us an appointment and a technician named Todd came out to help. This guy was great with the relaying the information so we could understand what the issue was and took care of it in a quick manner. Prices were great on the wallet and I will recommend this company and Todd to others.

Would never recommend to anyone. If you have their systems in your home, get a private inspector to come look at your handling unit. I requested they come out during the summer due to my upstairs not heating up. Mind you, my home wasn’t even a year old at the time. They wanted to charge me almost 300 just to come look at their system. Wouldn’t give me any warranty information and spent weeks before they even sent a technician out. I got a separate HVAC specialist to come and look at it. He explains they didn’t install a bypass duct in the home and that was the crux of my issues. They came out “fixed” my damper (propped it to always stay open) and told me, I was good to go and I wouldn’t have any issues. 6 months later, my heat stops working. The separate HVAC specialist came out and saw my heat exchanger is cracked. He let me know this normally happens in homes 10-15 years old, not less than 2. Luckily, the systems safety activated because the heat exchanger emits carbon monoxide!! If it didn’t, me and my family would have died in our home last night on the hopes that McDevitt did the job they told me was done. I called the McDevitt on-call specialist, who unprofessionally argued with me about the information presented to him, said the other technician was “blowing smoke”, and then said said it’d be $149 before he would out to my home to inspect. I have a 11 month old on the coldest day of the year and the individuals who input the system only care about money and not people. Never use them, never trust them, and always get an outside party to either do the work or inspect the quality of their work.

Changed out the filter today 9/1/2024 and noticed about an inch of water in the pan. Called Mcdevitt air a tech spoke to me said it was not normal was in the area and be over 20 minutes. A piece of insulation was stuck in the line . Richard Cooler did an excellent job. Will be using them for our twice a year maintenance program. This all occurred on a Sunday . Excellent response.

Hired McDevitt to install a mini split on the glass enclosed porch off our living room. They gave us a competitive price with all electrical included. They sent 3 very experienced and professional workers to install the unit. They did a fantastic job and were excellent to work with during the entire process. We could not be happier with McDevitt and their personnel. Lucas is top of the line and very knowledgeable. He explained everything they were doing and the operations aid rhe unit once it was installed. Highly recommend McDevitt for HVAC needs. Best of the best.

Just bought a new home, and all kinds of frutrating things have happened and it is always a pain to get the process started on fixing these issues … However, my AC went out which is the worst thing that feels like can happen to a brand new home is South Georgia with kids I called and was assured I would be taken care of but possibly not today because Jaime Vargas was stacked and was just upfront and honestly telling me he might not be able to get to us today. He could tell how frustrated I was and assured me he was trying… but in 2025 that’s not always comforting. But Jaime came through! He worked hard to make sure he took care of the others on his list and made it to me in enough time to fix the issue before I even got home from work and I’m so thankful to be home with my cold AC doing what it should be. People like Jaime and his service skills are a lost art in this world and as someone that works in service I just recognize when someone else actually cares about the service itself Thank you Jaime! And whoever is having problems, if I was you I would request him so your job is done efficiently, as quickly as possible and with a smile on his face… even if he’s having to do it in a thunderstorm outside.

Absolutely terrible experiences with this company. They installed our HVAC system when the home was built. The system has gone out multiple times in the 2 years we’ve been in the home and each service call is the same story…. “The last guy that came out didn’t know what he was doing…” Customer service is equally as bad over the phone with an attitude of confrontation and how quickly can I make this customer go away. No communication for a status update on parts coming in or an ETA on how long our system will be down. Miscommunication between their technicians so there’s a general lack of understanding each time they come out. We currently have been without heat or air for 8 nights of the last 30 days and this company has consistently proven that they could not care less. Stay as far away as you can.

We returned from vacation only to find our AC out. It’s 95 deg out! We contacted McDevitt Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend and got the answering service. McDevitt (Richard Cooler - yes, that is his name!) called back within 30 minutes. We scheduled an appointment on Saturday with Richard calling us in advance letting us know he was on his way. Once here he addressed the problems promptly (multiple flights of stairs and visits to the roof AC units- 95! Deg! ). He found the short and all fixed. Thank you McDevitt and especially big thanks to Mr. Cooler for great service. J&A

Our air conditioner recently went out on a Saturday afternoon. McDevitt had someone at our house within an hour. Paul, the technician, was able to provide a temporary fix to get us through the next few days. My wife worked with Chris on Monday to develop a solution and schedule the repair (new coil and condenser) The next day, Lucas and Isiah arrived early in the morning and worked tirelessly for four hours in 90+ degree weather. They were very nice and professional. We have used McDevitt since moving to SC two years ago. Everyone we have dealt with has been very professional and helpful. Highly recommend using McDevitt for heating and air conditioning.

Contacted the on-call service last night due to my elderly parent’s lack of ac. It was 88 degrees in the house & sweltering. We were fortunate enough to have Jaime Vargas provide our service. I can’t say enough how much we appreciate his expertise, professionalism, respectfulness, diligence & compassion. He went above & beyond in every respect possible. He could have completed his work at 9 pm, but made every effort to be sure that our ac unit was serviced. We are eternally grateful & want to be sure that he receives the accolades and praise that he has earned!

Our AC stopped cooling one evening, and since they had installed our unit several years ago, we called McDevitt Air at 830PM. Within minutes Jamie Vargas contacted us and arrived within the hour. In a matter of minutes he diagnosed the problem and by 1015PM, our AC was back to working like new. Mr. Vargas was professional, polite and knowledgeable. We cannot thank Mr. Vargas and the McDevitt Air group for their fast work...our Siberian Husky was the most appreciative. We give him 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My AC went out on evening of the 4th of July. I called and didn’t think I’d hear from anyone until the next day because of the holiday. But the technician Jaime called me right back, and walked me through some things to check over the phone and it worked! He saved my families July 4th.

I give Jaime from McDevitt Air 5 stars due to his knowledge and professionalism. I recently had the AC interior coils and outside unit replaced. He always explains what he did and why. He’s a perfectionist! Just what I want when I need work done!
