Kevin, the supervisor, came out to the home this morning after what is been a very stressful weekend with my furnace. Kevin came in highly professional, and very knowledgeable. He assessed the system with all the necessary tools. He explained everything. He went above and beyond, and ensure that the furnace is in working order. I highly recommend this company and I will continue to call on them for all my furnace needs. Thanks again, Kevin!!!!

Charter Oak Mechanical installed my replacement central air in 2024, and I've since used them for all my heating and AC maintenance. Can't say enough of how excellent they are with their service and timely response to any questions or problems - especially Logan! Great company and I highly recommend.

Charter Oak Mechanical came to my home for a routine air conditioning maintenance visit. During their service, the condenser fan motor failed on a relatively new unit (only 7 years old). Since then, I’ve been left without air conditioning during a severe New England heatwave. At the time of the incident, an apprentice was cleaning the outside unit unsupervised while the lead technician was working on the air handlers inside. Shortly after, the condenser fan motor broke down. This raises serious concerns about oversight and professionalism during the visit. When the issue occurred, the owner personally called me, empathized with my situation, and said he would try to help. I appreciated that gesture and hoped it signaled a commitment to resolving the matter. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to reach him since. The receptionist and service manager have not connected me with him, nor have they provided clear or honest updates. What’s been most disappointing is the attitude I’ve encountered from staff. I’m not sure how customer-friendly or helpful they intend to be until this is resolved. The lack of transparency and responsiveness during a time of real discomfort has been frustrating. I’m still hoping Charter Oak steps up and delivers the service and accountability customers deserve. I will update this review based on how the situation progresses.

We've been using Charter Oak Mechanical for 5 years now and just had them out to service our C/A. As always, they were on time, very friendly, helpful, and ready to answer any questions! The same gentlemen, whose name I can't recall, has been here several times and is amazing! I highly recommend!

Finally, I'm a proud owner of American Standard central air conditioning system installed by great team of people led by Jeremy! They did an excellent job overall and left the place spotless. Showed up on time and started working right away and did an awesome job installing and hiding the pipes and replacing the wires. They listened to my suggestions and answered all my questions. I would recommend them any day, any where. Thank you!

I was very impressed by Charter Oak Mechanical. We just moved into our house in Glastonbury and wanted to install a ducted A/C system before the summer. We solicited a few quotes, and Steve was the first to submit an estimate which was very reasonable given the scope of the work. He committed to begin work within only a few weeks. Robbie and his team were prompt and professional during the installation process. They were always willing to answer questions and were very accommodating of our needs. The work was completed earlier than anticipated, and it was clearly of high quality. I was also impressed with the subcontractors used, especially Angelo who did a fantastic job boxing in the closet ducts. I highly recommend Charter Oak for A/C installation.

Really great service! Charter Oak went out of their way to make sure I was happy. When I had an issue with my boiler, they showed up fast. They diagnosed and fixed it immediately.

Excellent customer service! We had Charter Oak come out and service out broken A/C system. Steve, the owner is a super friendly and knowledgeable guy. The price we were charged was way less than I had expected. They will certainly being getting all my heating and cooling business!

Charter Oak Mechanical LLC excelled at customer service yet again. After business hours, I had an issue with the furnace that led to water leakage. The lady who was on support for emergency repairs was courteous, made note of all the details and promptly called in the technician Eric S, for assistance. Eric S was punctual, professional, courteous, thorough in his assessment and documentation of the issue and helped remedy the root cause. There was water pooled around the area and he cleaned that up as well. I would recommend Eric S and Charter Oak Mechanical for your heating, cooling and ventilation services.

I spoke with the owner about a concern I was having with a less than year old system. He sent two servicemen out within 90 minutes. They found the cause of the problem, eliminated it and explained what I needed to do to prevent the issue from happening again. They were very polite, knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely recommend Charter Oak Mechanical in the future.

I recently had my old system removed and a new central ac system installed by Charter Oak Mechanical and I am very pleased. John came out and gave me a price quote. He spent a good deal of time explaining my options and was very professional with years of experience.Their quote was not the lowest or the highest that I received but I felt it to be very fair for what they were providing. Steve the owner then came out for a walk through before beginning work. All I have to say is he was very professional and an all around nice guy. A crew of 4 arrived within 2 minutes of the time they told me they would arrive to begin the install. They were led by Jeremy (Steves's son) . Before entering my home they put booties on to not track anything into my home and then proceeded to place drop cloths to insure keeping the flooring clean. I was amazed when they even swept my entire floor upon completing the job. It is only 3 days since the install but my home is cool again. This group is very professional being a family business with several long time employees. My son is looking to install AC next year and based on my great experience I will strongly encourage him to also have Charter Oak do his installation.

I worked with Charter Oak on replacing my furnace and central air unit. Can't say enough good things about their service and professionalism through the entire project (initial call, inspection, sales, installation/delivery) . They were prompt, courteous, professional, efficient, the list goes on. Pricing was on par with industry standards and I will use them for any/all mechanical services moving forward. After constant sub-par experiences working with other service providers it was a much needed breath of fresh air working with Charter Oak. Highly recommend!

If you are in need of an HVAC company in the Hartford that knows what they are doing, this is the company you are looking for. I recently had them come out to address a problem we were having with our smart thermostat which was in need of extra wiring to avoid a slow battery drain. I had already called the "pros" per the manufacturer's website to look at it and they simply threw their hands up and concluded it was a compatibility issue....but, it just didn't smell right to me. Had Charter Oak stop in for a second opinion, and wouldn't you know it, I had been misled and they knew exactly how to fix it and proved that the so called "pros" weren't the experts as advertised. Not only that, but, they really educated me about our system in our new home that we've only been in for a year. I will definitely be calling up Charter Oak for my future HVAC needs and I recommend you do the same.

We own an investment property in Hartford Scheduled 2 weeks in advance to give them Plenty of time to fit us into there extremely Busy schedule, drove 3 1/2 hours from New York to meet them and gain access into the house, they called at 1:00 pm which is the time they were supposed to be there and cancelled Without notice, when I said we just drove 3 1/2 Hours from New York the extremely uncaring Woman said oh well so call somebody else. Horrible horrible customer service, no wonder Why anyone I’ve spoken to in Hartford has said Do not use Charter Oak they are over rated over priced and too small a company to handle any Real work, I’m not even sure how they stay in business

Our 19 year old central ac was blowing warm air. I contacted 3 contractors and set up service calls. When Kevin from Charter Oak Mechanical came I was very impressed. Once we determined the coil had a leak and couldn't be repaired he changed the service call to a sales call and I was not billed for his coming. He got back to me next day with two options, replace the coil only or replace the entire system. We discussed the system being 19 years old and the compressor or the air handler could fail due to age. This is a major expense in owning a home and for all of us money is a concern. My concern was warranty, and dependability, the American Standard is rated high in both. We shared with him one of our other quotes and he came back to me after speaking with Steve the owner and gave us the winning bid! So far we love the American Standard 16 seer. Our original was a RHEEM 10 seer. With the American Standard variable speed fan on the air handler and the variable speed condenser, the unit comes on slow and once the house is at temperature slows back down to off. This feature should save us money on electricity and it is keeping the house at a 1 or two degree variation of the set temperature. The old unit came on full and shut off full so the house was always a bit chilly or a bit warm between cycles. Dealing with a small family owned business means I met Steve the owner, Jeremy his son, of course Kevin who we love, spoke at length with Julie in the office, and of course the crew Rob, Dave and Dillon. Being a former business owner, I am very impressed with how this was handled and completed. Thank you, Charter Oak Mechanical for making this very big decision feel like the right one!! Keith H

I had tried a DIY installation of a Third Generation Nest. There was an issue with the electric hookup of the thermostat in my house. I put in a work request for a Third Generation Nest installation for my home. Kevin from Charter Oak Mechanical was quick to respond and very helpful. He was able to identify the issue and solution the installation of my Third Generation Nest. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and quick to complete the work request. He even assisted in the initial program setup for the Nest.

Fist of all, let me say this company is very professional in all aspects of their work, form Julie the receptionist taking our call and making sure all the information of the work we needed was passed along to John and Steve in order for them to provide us with a quote for the best possible solution to our problem, to the duo of M & M (Mike and Mike), that performed a fast and efficient installation of the Heat Pump system we needed to replace. I can't say enough about all of them, from visiting our home to looking into the existing system, to the prompt proposal and equipment installation scheduling, this company took care of everything. They showed up at the date and time scheduled, work the entire day making sure to keep our home clean and free of clutter (using drop clothes throughout) and making sure to remove immediately old items and equipment to be disposed. After finishing (the next day), they took the time to test the equipment to insure it was setup and working properly, check the temperatures and explained with great detail the operation of it. If you are looking into any type of HVAC repairs or replacement, believe me you will not find a more courteous and professional group of individuals to work with and take care of your needs. "Kudos" to all of them, for their dedication we appreciate it very much and thank you for all your hard work.

I do not regret calling for Charter Oak. Service was amazing and the job was done fast! Recommended to my relatives and definitely will come back to Charger Oak Mechanical next time.

Most professional contractors, they came when they said they would. They were very polite and were able to to answer all of my questions. I will highly recommend Charter Oak Mechanical and would trust them for more projects in the future.

These guys will not help you in case of an emergency. Their website is false advertising. I gave them a call a couple hours after their closing time because my heat was out and it was 63 degrees in my home, just to be told that they can only service people who are already under contract. This was Friday evening so he told me I’d have to wait till Monday, when they’re open again, to set up and appointment then. I have 3 kids, 2,6 and 7, and they really expected me to go the whole weekend with out heat.

Very professional and knowledgeable. Worked on my water heater and furnace and explained everything they were doing. I will use them again and would recommend their work.
