We had a great experience working with Chill Heating and Cooling to replace the HVAC system in our house. Our old HVAC system was a Carrier Infinity system with multiple zones, so the setup was fairly complex and not something every contractor fully understands. We got several quotes, but Chill stood out because they clearly understood the existing system, the zoning constraints, and the realities of our house. Their recommendation was the most technically sound given those constraints, rather than just proposing a generic replacement. They were quick to schedule, showed up on time, and were professional throughout the installation. The install itself went smoothly, and they were careful and organized during the process. The new Carrier Infinity system has been working really well. It’s very quiet, heats our house evenly, and maintains the precise temperatures we set across the different zones. We’re very happy with the outcome and would recommend Chill Heating and Cooling, especially if you have a more complex or zoned HVAC setup.

These folks were quick to set up an appointment for a quote, installed a new split HVAC system the next week, and the job took one day total. Very professional staff and installers, especially Alex who wanted to go above and beyond to make sure (in his words) "everything is perfect" when the job was done. The install was very clean on the inside and outside of the house, see the pictures. I will definitely call these guys again when I have an HVAC need.

I tried to install a smart thermostat on my own but the procedure was a bit more complicated than I thought. Alex came on time and was incredibly fast. He was able to identify the issue and install it in a breeze! I will definitely call on Chill Heating and Cooling again and hope to use them for a bigger project for replacing my HVAC system in the house.

Our heating system wasn’t blowing warm air, and the technician arrived right on time, quickly identified the problem, and explained everything clearly. He found a refrigerant leak and gave us a detailed plan for repair and refill. The work was done efficiently, and now the system works perfectly again.

Back in October, my older Nest thermostat started going offline because Google no longer fully supports that generation in the Google Home app. It was frustrating to lose remote access and control. I knew it was an older model, but I didn’t realize it could cause partial failures like this. My furnace would cycle on and off erratically, leaving the house cold despite the thermostat seeming to work partially. I tried watching youtube videos and cleaning some components myself, but after a week with no improvement, I called Chill Service. Igor came out the same evening—super responsive! He inspected my furnace in about 20 minutes and pinpointed the issue: the malfunctioning thermostat. I was skeptical at first because light were on and it was starting the furnace, but once he replaced it with a new Google Nest thermostat (4th gen), everything heated perfectly again. He also installed a Nest temperature sensor in our bedroom (the coldest room in the house), and we’ve noticed a real difference—the room feels noticeably warmer and more comfortable at night now. This is my second time using Chill, and I can’t recommend them enough. They’re fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. If you need HVAC help in the area, go with Chill—no hesitation!

Jack and Alex installed a heater and ac unit. A two day job took one day. Chill Heating and Cooling were very professional, organized, and efficient. I have not had any issues with the work they have done. I ordered carrier products and they were nice enough to upgrade some of the products as an added bonus. Thank you Jack and Alex.

These guys were amazing, responded immediately on a Sunday and came out the next day. Great communication, showed up on time / early. Turns out my “repair” was a very minor thing so did not even charge me for it. Very courteous and professional, I highly recommend them. Great company and people.

I would give 0 stars if allowed but not for their service but their customer service. Once the service was completed they called incessantly to be paid. They called an left 3 messages within less than an hour. I was out shopping for the holidays and then my phone died. They also called my tenant where the service was done multiple times as well. I understand wanting to get paid after a service is done but this was extreme! A total of 10 phone calls in the space of a few hours! I also found it strange that they will only receive the service deposit via credit card then telling you they will charge 3% to use your credit card. I don't have a problem as they are charged by the credit card companies but when I pressed they said I could pay by Zelle. This should be an option offered

Chill recently came to my house to fix an old, 1950s era, furnace. Before they arrived I was thinking their solution was going to be replace the unit, I.e. upscale. Alex, the tech, evaluated the system and said there were only a couple of things that could be wrong and fixed the system by simply replacing the thermostat. I appreciated the honesty and integrity. Technician (name: Slava) showed up at the right time and he was very professional. He explained me very clearly what might be the problem with my refrigerator. Another problem was the original installation of the my refrigerator. Technician warned me that since the cabinets were too narrow / tight for the equipment, it might not be possible to insert the refrigerator back into it's location again. Because of this problem we decided not to remove the fridge yet. First, I will need the fix the problem with the cabinets.

I had a wonderful experience! The guy came out took a look noticed my A/C unit needed to be replaced indoors and outdoors due to the condition and it not working. He arrived on time, only took a couple of hours For him to replace indoors and outdoors. Very respectful and very professional. Very honest and fair. I called about service on my washing machine and the technician quickly informed me the machine needs to be replaced. The technician voluntarily waived the diagnostic/visit fee. This company will definitely be my 1st call for future appliance services.

The water dispenser in my refrigerator stopped working. Alex from Heating and Cooling was able to diagnose the issue from the very first visit, ordered the necessary parts, and then later corrected the problem. He was very knowledgeable and efficient. Very satisfied with pricing and services provided. Will definitely use the company again if something else comes up.

Last late summer, the air conditioner at our restaurant stopped working, so we called Chill HVAC for service. The technician went up to the rooftop, checked the unit, and got it running again within 10 to 15 minutes. He also told us the filter was too old and needed replacement, which he came back to do the next day. We were charged $665, but since the AC started working again, we didn’t see it as a big issue at the time. We only used the AC a few more times before the winter season came. Then last month, as the weather got warm again, we tried turning it on—but it didn’t work. Knowing we had just had it serviced the previous year, I went up myself to check the unit and was shocked by what I found. Several wires inside were melted together and blackened with burn marks. It was clear that the damage had not occurred recently, but had existed long before last summer’s service. We hired a different HVAC company, and they told us that all Chill HVAC had done was press the circuit breaker button to reset the system. Since the unit turned back on, they didn’t bother checking or addressing the serious underlying issue with the burned and melted wires. I feel completely deceived by Chill HVAC. In my opinion, they were negligent and failed to perform proper service. If you're considering using them—especially if your AC unit is old—I strongly recommend that you stay with them and watch what they do very carefully.

I highly recommend Chill Heating & Cooling. I worked with Jack and Slava and I felt these guys were extremely knowledgeable and professional from the initial visit for the estimate through completion. I received 8 separate estimates with a wide range of prices. This company, most definitely provides competitive pricing and professional and detailed estimates. The scope of work was an entire new forced air system for both heating and cooling at my Castro Valley home. I was provided several options in the estimate and ended up going with the American standard equipment. It was also nice reviewing the separate options with Jack to find what option worked best for me. I plan on hiring chill again for future projects.

We had an issue with our upstairs AC not cooling one side of the rooms and Chill HVAC came out same day. After a couple of hours to assess the issue, then found out the root cause was a malfunctioning damper and a hole in the duct that was likely caused by poor initial installation. Came back the next day to fix it and now it runs like new. Thanks Igor!
