If I could give Care Credit with Synchrony Bank ZERO stars, I would. Terrible customer service. Have had my card for almost a year, on Jan 25th. $4100 line of credit and have not used it but had it for emergencies since we run a pet rescue. Received an email that it would be closed on Jan 16th if not used. Tried to make a medical payment last Friday on Jan 2nd and it wouldn’t go through. Tried again today, Jan 6th and again, payment declined. Called “Customer Service” and was told the card was deactivated last night at midnight on Jan 5th!! WTH?!?! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was just transferred to another Account Manager. When I asked to speak to a Manager, I was told they don’t take calls and the only option was to be transferred to another Account Manager who will tell me the same thing. Ridiculous!! They said they can’t “reopen” the account even though it was closed erroneously 11 days early. The only option I was offered was to REAPPLY and DING my credit again!! Absolutely not! This is not my error!! I would never recommend them. The 2nd Account Manager told me she was taking Notes and would try to see if a manager can call me tomorrow. I am not holding my breath for that. I am appalled at all the terrible reviews I have seen. How can they run a business like this? Disgraceful

I believe the way the Payment Card Security add‑on was placed on my account and the resulting cascade of late fees violates these protections.” I also understand I can raise this with federal bank regulators, including the FDIC’s Consumer Response Center, if necessary, regarding the way these add‑on fees and late fees have been handled.” your AI Sydney mislead consumer , i had a rep today who told me she wasn't happy they way your company treated her let a few thing slip out , here one every consumer needs to know , Federal billing‑error and fee rights (CFPB / FCBA / TILA) The Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) and Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act) give you the right to dispute billing errors on credit cards in writing within about 60 days of the statement that first shows the error. When you send a proper written dispute, the creditor must acknowledge it within 30 days, investigate, and either correct the account (including removing related fees and finance charges) or explain why they think the charges are correct. they hung up the phone , my calls are recorded every one , because of my disability , your manger said I'm sorry but your mistaken we don't have to follow with any of the states or federal laws your agreement said you waive all that up . we rather pay a small fine then and a class Action law suite . this the way manger talk to consumer , Synchrony cfo need to be fired , and the bord need to be notified

Synchrony Bank is one of the biggest scams to have to deal with I have 3 different accounts open for over 6 years no missed payment or late payments,and the minute they get a chance to lower your credit usage they will!!! Dont hand out 12,000 dollars in credit and if someone only used 3,000 and they pay the payment on time don't lower the credit usage lower than the amount people have left to pay!! IT MAKES CREDIT GO DOWN FOR NO REASON AND CHANGES THERE CREDIT SCORE A LOT!! I paid off the cards plenty of time and when I use them again halfway paying them off the will lower the usage again,I have been playing this game to long with Synchrony Bank I owe 1200 on all my accounts and never using them again!!! DONE!!

They seem to have no trouble taking your money on time but any refunds or reversals take weeks. If you can't handle the "security" needed to reverse or dispute a transaction, maybe you shouldn't be in the business of credit.

Do not open a synchrony account. I set up a synchrony auto pay account for a home improvement account prior to the bill being posted. It didn’t allow me to select an amount because the company hadn’t charged us yet. When the payment posted I updated the auto pay to the minimum amount I wanted to pay. On the first of the following month I got notice that my account was paid in full OVER $10,000! I called asking what the heck happened and they said that when I changed the auto pay on the 9th of August the amount would have come out October 1st but the previous paid in full amount would have posted on September 1st! I changed it as soon as the payment was posted! Then they advised me to call my bank and cancel the payment from that end and that it wouldn’t negatively affect my account. I have since paid another minimum payment and just received notice that my synchrony account is closed to them not trusting me to pay the balance. DO NOT EVER BANK WITH SYNCHRONY. I will be reporting this to the BBB. Also they will not provide anything in writing.

I see carecredit is hiding behind Synchrony, but anyway for a company with the word CARE in it, they are not very caring at all!! Had a credit limit of $4500, hadn't even used 1/4 of my available credit yet they lowered my limit to $690 right before I need to use it for upcoming dental expenses!!! I have never missed a payment nor have been late making a payment and there's no exceptions, I explained to customer service and there's nothing they can do... it's just the way the system is. Not very caring or understanding at all!! Had you actually looked at my credit report as you claim you would find ALL of my payments are 100% on time and should also take into consideration my account with you is in good standing as well as the longevity!! What a way to treat a long time customers!!!

Please please please read reviews before taking out a loan with a company. I made the mistake of not doing this and not I am out thousands of dollars. This company is unethical!! I had a payment of $101 per month. I had prepay set up and thought everything was fine. That was until I found out that I needed to pay $180 a month or interest would be added to my loan. It literally would have been a never ending loan. Then I go on to pay my loan in full. I log back on to ensure that everything went through smoothly. Now it was I still have $500 to pay. I have confirmation of paying my loan in full yet it still added $500. And there’s no way to contact anyone besides a AI robot that does not help. The person behind synchrony is not doing legal practices. Do not do anything with this company!!

I received a call from Synchrony saying my payment was returned, so my payment was past due. So, I went in and paid it again. Then both of my payments posted, I was charged $35.00 for returned payment, then I received a letter from them saying they were closing my account because I was dishonest. I will never do business with them again. I paid them off in full. My credit rating is over 800.

Opened a Synchrony Bank Credit Card account to purchase a new Heat Pump in Arizona. My Monthly Payments were $169.00 per month Due on the 9th of each month. To ensure timely Payment I scheduled electronic payment from my Credit Union on the 7th of each month. Electronic Payment are received ON THE SAME DAY IT IS SENT. Two Days prior to the due Date! In February and March amazingly my payments didn't post to my account UNTIL The Day AFTER the DUE DATE! This is an unethical business practice designed to charge customers a Late Fee! $30.00 and $41.00 by purposely not posting a payment that was in their account for TWO DAYS! I moved my payment date back to SEVEN Days prior to the due date and increased the amount to pay this shady excuse for a bank and Credit Card Company OFF ASAP! I will NEVER Do Business with Synchrony Bank for ANY Reason, Nor will I recommend their services to ANYONE I Know! Deal with them at your own Risk!

I wish I could leave no star, horrible experience with them, I can not believe it, today they closed all 4 credit cards I had with them, total line with them above 32000 $, without any notice or any reason, my credit score is above 750 and I do not any outstanding balance on my cards and I paid my statement on time in these 3 years I am their costumer, I called customer service for every each of my credits cards with them but no one does any response for me. I am shocked why they did this to me. I lost above more than 32000$ of my total credit cards line for no reason, at one day without any fault by me! Who can I talk? There is no even a phone number for Synchrony bank costumer service and every credit card costumer service I called today that they are with Synchrony said we do not have any phone number of Synchrony. It is like a nightmare that I cannot believe it.

I opened a Lowe's credit card which is backed by Synchrony. I made a purchase under their interest free plan. I setup auto-pay and made all my payments on time. I paid off the purchase and paid no interest. I then made another purchase under their interest free plan. Before time to make my first payment, Synchrony closed my credit account without any reason. On time payments mean nothing to this bank. While other banks are raising my credit limits, this bank closed mine. This move by the bank negatively affected my credit rating. Their customer service center had no answers for me other than to say they couldn't reopen the account. I will pay off the balance I owe them, ON-TIME as I always have, and will never open a credit card with them again. I would advise anyone else considering a card with them to avoid them altogether. Terrible bank.

I was promised a 0% interest installment plan for 3 years. Instead, I was charged a penalty and $1247 in interest in May — followed by another $94 in June. This was never explained clearly, and it’s very different from what was promised. It feels misleading and dishonest. Under U.S. consumer protection laws, I have the right to share this experience publicly and will report it to the CFPB if the issue isn’t resolved.

AWFUL! SHADY! I could go on and on. Despite never missing my payments, nor maxing out a credit card they closed multiple of my cards with no warning, lowering my credit score. Customer service is USELESS. No answers and told they cannot be reopened mending any harm they've caused. THEN my very next payment went out and my usual low interest charge of maybe $15 turned into a $200 interest charge FOR NO REASON. No new purchases and was told its because the account was closed. Which they closed. For no reason. So irritated. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT open cards with this bank.

I am publicly documenting a deeply unethical and obstructive experience I had with Synchrony Bank while seeking financial hardship assistance on my TJX Rewards credit account. After waiting over one hour to reach a human being, I was told by their outsourced call center that the only way to receive hardship assistance was to close my account — and even then, only if I could prove I had a second income source. Not only is this absurd, it's discriminatory toward anyone experiencing real hardship. It penalizes you for being honest about your financial situation. What followed was a scripted, circular maze of misdirection and gaslighting. I was lied to, given no options, and ultimately left with nothing but exhaustion and frustration. The experience was designed to make me give up — not to help me. Let me be clear: - I was actively seeking help - I was met with denial, miscommunication, and silence - Their rep left a voicemail, but refuses to respond in writing Synchrony’s policies appear intentionally misleading. They advertise support but weaponize silence and procedural confusion to avoid giving it. Their refusal to respond to follow-up emails or provide documentation tells me everything I need to know: this is a performance, not a solution. If you’re considering working with TJMaxx, Synchrony, or any credit line attached to them — don’t. I have had there Verizon card for a few years an every year they reduced my limit to below my balance an there reason is my credit score change well everyone score change it's not bad never late an always pay above the minimum now Verizon say use your card to pay your bills i do for the discount but they keep cutting your limit to the point I can just pay my bill with out the discount an come out better than trying to use the card an find out the limit is cut again this is why I don't use the Verizon card anywhere but Verizon my limit have been cut 3 time in 3 or 4 years of having the card so I'm canceling this call an lose the discount an not doing business with this bank for the Verizon card on all my other cards non of them have pull this an they have 3 to 6 time higher limit so in short stay away from them Verizon card they give high limit to start an every year cut the limit by 25% save the headache go with other

Terrible. I have a discount tire credit card. I haven’t used this card in a few months and I needed some gas anyway. Gas station asks for zip code. I haven’t changed it since i got the card so I know for a fact I have the correct zip code. It says it’s incorrect. I log into my account and I can see that I put in the correct code, but I think maybe I’ll change it to my new new one since I just moved. Nope. I need to verify my identity with my phone number, which I can also see on my account information it’s my personal number, I put it in. It’s wrong. I try a few other times cause I KNOW for a fact that i’m putting in the correct number. Nope. Actually if I try one more time it will lock me out of my account!! Super cool! I’ll be closing my account and will not ever be using them again and you shouldn’t either! :)

Would also give them 0 stars. Shady shady shady. Never received a paperless statement and only heard from them to let me know my payment was past due. By that time a late fee was on the account. Never told they were paperless so was looking in the mail for over a month for a statement. Stay away from this bank and don’t use a store credit card that is affiliated with synchrony.

I just contacted Synchrony bank for help resolving an issue with my Verizon Visa credit card. I found the representative to be cold, uncaring, and not at all helpful. If I didn’t like using the Verizon Visa because of its generous rewards, I would never ever use Synchrony Bank again! It’s amazing to me that a bank can exist in today’s marketplace with such awful customer service. Your stock holders should be very concerned.

I’ll preface this by saying I have NEVER missed a single payment in years. Yet, without notification, my account was closed. They ran a credit check, without authorization and decided, based on outside loans from another organization to close the account. This intern has negatively impacted my credit. When I called to inquire about the closure, the representative did not have an answer. She repeatedly just told me to call TransUnion. Is this even legal?

If I could give zero stars, I would. 2 payments were made online, w a confirmation number given both times. On the statements following, 2 returned check fees were billed to the account twice. When called, we were told the account had NSF, which is absolutely not true. The first time we were told the fees would be reversed which they were not and this time we were told no, the error was on our end bc we entered the wrong account number, also not true. They are shameful and horribly unethical.

Stay away from this creditor. I've had synchrony for years, I miss one payment and my available credit goes from $4,000 to only $180.00 with a debt of $12.00. This is no joke, but the company is. Incompetence runs deep with this company. It truly does deserve it's low rating.

This bank is rigid, customer service is rude and they are not respectful of their clients time. They do not have an alert built in for inadvertent over credit card payments. They take your money and make it very difficult to cancel the extra payment and return funds. You have to wait til posted call back in 24-48 hrs when posted speak to multiple departments to find that it will be a returned in the form of a paper check. SO INCREDIBLY INCONVENIENT!!!!!

Please do not open a credit card with this bank, do not listen to stores who push this card for credit, they will put your spending credit on hold after a payment is done and you cannot use the card for a good week or two. What card penalizes it's customers for making a payment!! Customer service just reads off a screen find another credit service
