The staff at Collins Community Credit Union in West Des Moines are extremely kind, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Shea helped me on Friday with several transactions and he made sure each one was completed correctly and thoroughly. Emily, the manager, at this location is always available for my questions and is always ready to assist her staff as needed too. Thanks all.

The employees at CCCU in West Des Moines are very helpful and are a pleasure to work with. I live in Grimes and find it very inconvenient to have drive to West Des Moines to manage my account if I need to visit the branch in person. Does the credit union have any plans to open a branch in other location in Metro Des Moines?

The last two times I had business with Collins I was helped by Ana. She greeted me when I came in and was very friendly and welcoming. She took care of my transaction promptly and was very professional. I would recommend Ana and Collins to anyone looking for a financial partner.

I have been banking here for the last few years. Avery at the mills civic location is professional and does a great job at walking through all the options in detail. He is quick at responding and quick and precise at getting new services in place for me. Avery is the reason I continue to do business with Collins community credit union.

Collins has been great to work with over the last year for all my financial needs. Avery and Jason at the Mills civic location have made every transaction seemless. On top of the great service they have the best rates. I highly recommend doing business with them.

It costs $15 to make a payment over the phone, the website is very outdated and hard to make payments on. I have to go to the branch to make my payments and have had very poor customer service. I had an issue with my insurance and was emailing with their rep Marcie who told me I gave them everything they needed and if there was any issues she would email me back and let me know. I never heard back from her so assumed everything was okay but when I go to make my next payment the issue is still there and I received negative credit reporting because I thought the issue was resolved when it wasn’t and she never emailed me back letting me know the issue was still there. From there I’ve been emailing with 3 different reps who have all told me different things about my auto loan and they claim there’s nothing they can do about the credit reporting.

I have many good things to say about Collins CCU since I've become a member. I decided to switch to Collins after Veridian tried to tell me they don't make money off of overdraft fees because they are a non-profit organization. It was an insult to my intelligence. Over the course of a few months a very patient representative helped me make the switch, and my only regret is not doing it sooner. Not only did she help me setup a free checking that provides an actual yield (2.25% annual dividend), but she helped me switch my credit card over from Veridian, cutting my interest rate almost in half (13.7% to 7.4%). I had to go into the Mills Civic branch to finalize some things with the account, and I was assisted by Ana. Ana was great. She helped me get through the process quickly, but where she really shined for me was when she offered to have an insurance agent contact me for quotes. I've been a loyal & safe driver for 10 years with Progressive (with great coverage), and I did not expect anything even comparable. Boy, was I wrong! Not only did they save me money on my auto insurance (about $95 for the year), but they gave me an absolutely fantastic renters quote, saving me about $300 a year. I cannot thank Ana enough for making the effort. I'm definitely not the type of person who gives off the appearance of "financially responsible" or anything, so I'm sure she thought it was a total shot in the dark, just as much as I thought it would be. THANK YOU SO MUCH ANA! Switching from Veridian to Collins has been one of the most positive financial decisions I've made.

I spoke with Za by phone regarding a personal loan, she was very helpful and informative. She made the process so easy and she was with me every step of the way, communicating by phone or through email. Needless to say, I got approved and it was a very simple process, thanks Za, you are awesome!!!!!

Needed some help figuring out the best route for a little consolidation, spoke with Caroline and she had a couple different options for me in just a few short minutes and helped me choose the right path for me and my family. It was a very good experience, Caroline was very helpful and answered all my questions and had everything ready to roll in less than a day! Couldn’t ask for more helpful people!!

I received great customer service from member Relationship Specialist ZA HNEM today while doing my banking at the Mills-Civic location, it was refreshing to know that she really went over and beyond to see that my needs were met. Thanks Za

Updating review - they have added the ability to connect your account to mint.com which is AWESOME. I would still love to be able to see more information through their online portal, like payoff estimators and amortization schedules that you get with Rocket Mortgage but they do provide those if you contact them.

Things I thought I would never say #1 "I Love My Bank/Credit union, but I do! I've banked with Collins for years now and have always been given the best customer service and treatment from their staff. Great checking and savings and when I need a new auto loan or a home equity line of credit BAM they are on it! They make the process so easy and always checking for better rates and deals for me. I've saved tons by getting my gap and vehicle protection plans through them. Can't say enough about them. Avery has been wonderful to work with most recently on going through my accounts and getting me better rates.

Staff are friendly. It is correct that it costs $15 to make a loan payment over the phone. 😡 I tried calling this location by googling Collins Community Credit Union at Jordan Creek... Chose to dial phone number presented to me - it does NOT go directly to this Location! It is Collins Community Credit Union customer service center. I had question for mortgage loan originator specifically and needed to talk with him & not be put on hold by cust. Service...waiting... To be told he is not available! Why not publish a direct phone number to THIS LOCATION? I should have been able to talk to someone without being put on hold & waiting! Also my message left for said mortgage loan originator EVIDENTLY DID NOT GET TO INTENDED PERSON - JASON BEARD. I have not received a call back from him as I asked to be done. I was there on Dec 17th... It is Dec 29th today! SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS LATER I HAVE HEARD FROM NO ONE!!! POOR LOCATION CUSTOMER SERVICE & POOR CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE! HOPE MY AUTO-DEDUCT PAYMENT IS APPLIED ON CORRECT DATE & FOR CORRECT AMOUNT IN JANUARY... OH BOY!!! YOUNG WOMAN WHO HELPED ME SET UP AUTO-DEDUCT KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO PULL UP ON COMPUTER & SET PAYMENT DATE; AS WELL AS MADE PRINTED COPIES FOR ME VERY QUICKLY. I WILL see if it all comes out correctly on set date from correct bank & account...

Emily is great person to work with, I have been with this bank for few years and Emily has always helped me out. Top notch customer service!

They lock your account so you are not able to make a payment online, then if you go through a 1 day payment it has a $7 fee. Very Inconvenient for people that don't live in town. I live an hour away, so the only option for me is to pay online. So now on my day off I have drive all the way to a Des Moines location so I do not have to pay a fee. Maybe I should charge them a gas fee.

Local branch wasn't to bad but the 800 number for this redirect union is ridiculous. They lie to you are rude also very sketchy. But in a whole I would never suggest them to anyone.

Very poor customer service. They don't have the decently to call you to tell you status of loan application. Loans are made from corporate in Cedar Rapids makes the process very difficult. Worst car financing experience ever!

The staff here are friendly and helpful. We moved here about 6 months ago and upon an ex employee recommendation decided to stop by. We are very happy with that decision.
